Shadow 6,639
Are we referring to the same woman who has been performing around the world for years in tours and in front of more than millions before? If there is anything I envy about Stefani/Gaga is her self discipline in being a perfectionist in her work. She rehearses endlessly even when it was something like a skit for SNL. Her voice is her moneymaker and it has gotten her this far. Even when she used to make mistakes in mid show, she was usually good at improvising and staying cool under pressure, thus a sign of a professional. Stand in the light, cast your shadow. This performance could be such an important moment in her legacy and I just want Lady Gaga to get more of the praise that she deserves. Keep it clean, simple, and powerful Gaga I agree. I was a little worried seeing it myself I hope she tones it back a bit for the actual performance. I have faith in her, though she'll be great. Jester 6,365
I agree with you. She should sing it like she sang it for the Pride... She doesn't need the drama tbh Not doubting that her vocal delivery will be flawless tho
jezze0410 393
What concerns me after having watched that video is the amount of movement; what made the Whitney rendition so iconic was the laid back, at ease approach she took. Gaga looked like she was in full JazzGa mode, complete with flailing arms and head-banging. Or perhaps it just looked that way because there was no audio. teo 609
I don't think there will be a problem. Unlike other national anthems that are strictly performed by an orchestra and a choir the American one has been performed in so many different ways(by what I've seen on yt) so as long as she sings the proper lyrics and don't improvise too much with the melody she will be fine.
