As we've all identified, the National Anthem is no time to insert your own "freak" style into the mix. 

I've been watching old Super Bowl National Anthem performances to understand the full context... One key thing I've noticed is that before EVERY performance (dating back to the first Super Bowls), the announcer says in the lead in, "...and now to honor America" ---- this is NO time to make the performance about yourself and your stage persona! This is about honoring America. Simple as that. 

Gaga will slay us with class... Give us a brilliant arrangement from her Cheek to Cheek band and brilliant vocals. That is all.
