Gaga has never been know for small things, she earned her ''rarity'' because of performers like David, Madonna and Michael, and she wanted to tribute him with something big. Now everyone will start hating on the Gaga performance because little Lorde kept it simple?

A bowie tribute should never be traditional. You can spot the young folk a mile off on here.

Kinda true...

Yeah I have to agree, the whole thing was done better than the Grammys tribute for him. I appreciate the spectacle of Gaga's performance but I have a feeling that it was only so over the top because they already has so much planned with the Intel stuff that they couldn't go back on them. A shame as it just ended up looking like her doing a drag tribute to him. Even though the performance was good and she did well, it wasn't entirely appropriate for a tribute to someone who just passed.

Also kinda true...

Gaga is going to get slammed again, but one week from now nobody will remember any of the tributes...

The truth is there was already so much involved in Gaga's thing, from her HAVING to work with Intel, to her HAVING to do something different from the "simple" performances she had been delivering since 2014...she took a gamble and it didn't pay off in the way we were expecting...but it wasn't the complete mess ppl are trying to make it look like...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

What people seem to forget with those tributes is actually who was David Bowie.. People want those tributes to be classy, to be sobre, to be everything but extravagant, everything but a show, but David Bowie was the showman, he was a performer on top of everything, he made freaks feel cool ! I don't want some red lights and a girl in a white t-shirt, that's just ignoring Bowie's legacy: I want a tribute to what David Bowie represented !

I think it's more the fact that Bowie actually likes Lorde and her performance style, and she just paid tribute to him with that exact style.

I guess when Madonna or Cher dies the tributes would have to be completely made from ballads or something, because they passed.
