The Katy Perry Game Flopped, So Its Makers Signed Taylor Swift

The company behind the Kim Kardashian game said Katy Perry Pop was a big disappointment as it announced a new game with her rival, Taylor Swift.Katy Perry Pop was one of Glu Mobile’s “biggest disappointments” in the back half of last year, Chief Financial Officer Eric Ludwig said on an earnings call Wednesday. 

They hope that Swift — who Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi referred to as “the most popular person in the world” — will lift the company’s performance is of note given the very public feud between the two pop stars. It’s widely believed that Swift’s “Bad Blood” is about Perry, and there’s a long history of both stars subtweeting each other and drawing celebrity friends into their lines of fire. Now, the feud will extend to the iTunes App Store.

The Katy Perry game’s failure to resonate with users was mostly due to Glu’s own technical issues, as well as some creative decisions, like including something called “Katy Vision” and “various other quirkier elements,” de Masi said on the call.

But, dude, the flop had nothing to do with Katy...it had to do with Glu basically doing the same Kim K game, only with Katy and a handful of errors...

Idk...I REALLY don't like the idea of these celebrity games.

Like, if it was all open and free, ok. If it was paid for, but it was a great game, sure, why not? But all I see are these "freemium" gimmicky apps, whose gameplay is pure bullshit and that are designed ONLY to take money from it's users...even as entertainment they're complete failures, they're just a fkn tool to explore the fans of these stars, who endorse this maybe not even knowing what it will be...the day Gaga announces her game (and I have the feeling this day will come), I'll be disappointed af...

I don't think its KP's fault here. Its the company's fault for not marketing it right. Signing a popstar to help a bubble game, does not mean they will get the pop figure's fans as the players. 

Now signing Swift makes it look like they want to ride the feud between them because people will download both games just to compare. Thats just sad if they want to profit from two women's conflict.

No, sis....Demi's was actually surprisingly well done and very good, but because of her name not many people checked it out.

While the Katy game, was actually a bad game, it is not Katy's fault but the game was full of tacky features that were not entertaining. It was just a poorly thought out move on the game creator's part.

She's not a threat. But her fans are a threat to my composure.. They need to realise that Katy is nowhere near Lady Gaga's level just because Prism sold just a half million more than ARTPOP
