Do you think having Gaga tribute to Bowie is not enough respect for him?

I came across this article, and it made me think a little bit. I know this performance is a great opportunity for Gaga and it's something we LM can celebrate for, but with a performer of such high level like Gaga, do you think it makes the performance more about Gaga herself when it should all be about Bowie and his legacy? I can understand if some people wouldn't really appreciate that.  But still, I don't really care because Gaga will slay it!

Everything is self-centred. There wouldn't be opinions if people didn't think of themselves. 

However, if people say "Omg Gaga is just doing this for herself." Then those people need to sit down and maybe take a look at themselves.

Well, what do you want her to do? ANOTHER album full of covers? Dig up his grave?

This is a tribute to her idol so she's gonna do what she was born and what David inspired her to do and perform.

Mmmm I kind of agree. I am still looking forward to the performance but it's a big job to create a performance as a homage to Bowie as he has had so many different eras, identities and sounds, three to four songs is not really enough.

I hope Gaga kills it because this could quite easily turn messy for her.

Gaga have paid many tributes for lots of artists, she always managed to save the original taste of the song and add a little gaga twist in it

It's not like people working with Bowie in the past won't be involved...

Most of criticisms came from pissed Madonna fans because Gaga is doing it and they know it's a big defining career moment and they know she'll probably deliver a great show.

Like I said elsewhere if she slays this tribute + the National Anthem, there is a huge chance she'll slay her coming era and it's pretty sure Lady Gaga won't be seen as negatively as before. And Madonna fans (the one who are haters of course) could not handle this.

I think Bowie's direct relative or child should do the tribute and sing in front of the all the viewers. It's much more personal in that way.

Well we all want Gaga to succeed, but if it's too much, then the performance can became all about her instead of Bowie, which is not what it's really supposed to be.

but isn't a tribute suppose to bring out the beauty that was in Bowie's music? I think to truly respect Bowie's artistry is to let a singer who is able to do that (six time Grammy winner Lady Gaga) and who has a special connection to him (yes relatives do but are they professional singers?) to execute that.
