wendy said these days gaga is really winning, and praises her gorgeous fiancé, talent, and looks

she also says that Gaga is too big to just perform the national anthem and how much dislikes coldplay doing the half time

the praise won't stop this year:giveup:

She's a hypocrite though, she says this but then if Gaga did the halftime show, Wendy would just criticize it.

Don't allow the envy you feel for these athlete's salaries and free education to somehow absolve your conscious of the role you are playing in their pain by defending the NFL or by being a spectator to the sport of football.

Your argument is that as long as people are paid well enough they should be able to kill themselves for our entertainment, if they so choose? What an abominable thought. Particularity abominable when you consider many of them didn't know the risk. The NFL is facing a class action law suit form former players for covering up the link between football and long term brain damage.

Why anyone would waste a breath defending the NFL in light of everything we know about them is beyond me, but I suppose some people are as blinded by money as the NFL.

If I can dislike posts, I would dislike this post. This is not the Hunger Games. If you, a person who is not involved in these games, know about the bad effects of the league, surely the people who join know this, more than anyone in fact. Again, they are never forced to these things.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

What the heck are you even talking about?

They know the risk now. How many of them are getting out? They have the money to do so. They could quit right now and go get a regular job.

How many players are quitting at the college level right now? They are all over the age of 18. They are free to decide to quit playing sports at anytime.

This is a free will decision, just like those that go into boxing or soccer for a living, or those that decide they want to pay tens of thousands of dollars to attempt to climb Mt. Everest, walk a tight rope across a canyon or do stunts for a living. There is a risk in many occupations and hobbies. Adults make the choice as to whether they want to risk their lives for fame, fortune or the thrill.

Actually When it was rumored that Bruno and Coldplay were going to perform (2015, 2016) she wasn't here for it and recommended Rihanna, Beyoncé(again) and even Gaga.

Um... She spoke the absolute truth. Gaga better not come dressed avant-garde, just put on a simple beautiful dress and sing it properly and you're good. No stunts, no crazy voices, nothing out of the "normal"

Inb4 she dresses as Donald Trump wearing an American flag and pretends to shoot ISIS members and reenacts throwing illegals over a border wall while singing the national anthem in order to bring attention to legal issues of the day and influence the American presidential election.

Also Beyonce will be twerking in the background while everything happens to proivde the context of the current state of pop culture.

Is her audience given cue cards on how to react? :toofunny: After every sentence it's either...

Clap

YES!

NO!

Ooh..

Laugh

Not sure if anyone answered this (5 pages, nobody got time for that).

Yes, they are given cues on how to react.

I hate football and think the NFL is an abomination.

BUT, whoever thought getting concussions every couple of weeks was harmless is truly stupid. And maybe I'm not a nice person or whatever, but my pity will go elsewhere.

She's so, so right. Whilst I'm glad that GaGa will be delivering the perhaps more critically credible performance of the event, I do agree that she should always be the main course. Having said that, I'm glad that she'll be showcasing her vocals once again. I would however like for at least an edgy outfit or something similar.

Truthfully, I just want GaGa back. I've enjoyed the lady, but now is the time for GaGa; time for the performer, the challenger. I hope she'll be able to fuse that with the national anthem somehow. It would be beautiful if she did perform her 'own' version (LGBT+), but I very highly doubt this. A boy can dream. That would be iconic on such a masculine-dominated platform.

Listen, the moment you justified your indifference to these boy's traumatic brain injuries by even mentioning that they receive free college text books, I knew that nothing I had to say would be able to change your point of view. You and I have a different code of ethics, and that is all there is to it.

BUT most people are stupid, or at the very least most people are incredibly ill-informed.

Forget the athletes in the NFL, think about the parents of little children who play football. The parents who have been told for decades, by the NFL, that the sport their son's are playing is safe. Who were they meant to trust? The NFL says it is okay, the government seems to have no problem with children playing football, so who are these parents meant to turn to for guidance? We live in a country where children are not allowed to drink alcohol because it inhibits their brain development, but there are no laws against letting children play sports which we know will cause them serious brain damage.

We made a national past time out of watching beautiful men in their prime receive traumatic brain injuries. It's barbaric, and it wont last much longer.

The fact that they get their entire college degree for no cost was to point out that they can quit at any time. They don't have huge college loans to worry about and they have already made millions of dollars, enough to pay cash for a house and all its contents, start a college fund for their kids, put a ton of money in the bank for retirement and now they have a college degree so that they can go out and get a job that isn't putting them at any kind of physical risk. They are adults, adults who have the choice to continue their football career or take the millions they have and do something else.

That has nothing to do with indifference to people's possible medical issues. It comes down to adults having free will. No one is making them continue to play football.
