I'm hoping if this is true, she's performing twice.

The intel thing was supposed to be promo for Intel and Gaga, it'd feel kinda tacky if they mixed both imo :awkney:

They wanted her to do it and she loves him so i think it's a great idea!  Plus, this will be a big deal on social media... which she can only benefit from when she releases her next single in March/April/May, or whenever.  People will be more excited for new gaga music after this performance goes well.  Think of all the new people she will possibly have as new listeners for her next single. People that gained interest from C2C, Sound of Music, the Bowie tribute, etc.. will all be potential new listeners.   I think this is a good thing.  Plus gaga and Bowie, this has to be great!

This is my first post, though iv'e been lurking here for about a month and a half lol

Welcome! :nick: I'm glad you decided to start participating!

The only thing that makes me uneasy about this whole thing is that Bowie never seemed to be very fond of Gaga. I think he once even said something rude about her? idk. I think he's a very special person to Gaga, probably more than any other artist out there, but the fact that he never seemed to be interested in her makes me kinda uncomfortable.

Anyway, it's a massive achievement to headline a tribute for such a big artist so congrats to Gaga!!

I'm still confused about the Intel performance. Was it ever clarified whether or not it would be during the Grammys?

They only stated it would happen during 'Grammy week', but most people assumed it would be during the show. Now that we know she was booked to perform anyway, it seems that the Intel performance could have been intended for then, but we don't know. There was a thread made yesterday about how someone had seen the Intel promo on TV during a commercial break, so that makes me think it's still happening, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Congrats Gaga!

Also, how do we know he didnt like her? I thought she said in the Howard Stern interview that she didnt want to talk aboit some relationships because they were sacred when asked about Bowie, and that's exactly what she's said about McQueen in the past.

looks cool but it's so obvious that the big display letters should spell GAGA, not LADY. I hate when they do that

Music’s Biggest Night Hosted by LL COOL J

The Recording Academy® will honor GRAMMY® Award winner and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient David Bowie with an experiential tribute performed by one of his biggest fans, six-time GRAMMY Award winner and current nominee Lady Gaga, at THE 58TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS. Affording audiences a chance to experience Bowie's music once again, the tribute will be a multi-sensory testament to the superstar's incredible artistry and a reflection of his limitless creativity. The special will be broadcast live from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Monday, Feb. 15 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/check local listings for other time zones) on the CBS Television Network.

Musical director for Lady Gaga’s tribute is three-time GRAMMMY Award winner Nile Rogers, whose own history with Bowie dates back 30 years to “Let's Dance,” the 1983 hit that marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship between the two.

Lady Gaga joins previously announced performers, Adele, James Bay, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd. Entertainment icon and two-time GRAMMY winner LL COOL J is set to host Music's Biggest Night® for the fifth consecutive year. Additional performers will be announced shortly.

The tribute will mark Lady Gaga's fourth appearance on the GRAMMY Awards broadcast. She is nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media for “Til It Happens To You” with Diane Warren.

“We had already booked Lady Gaga on this year's show, but when David passed – almost in a single moment – we knew we had to change direction. We immediately spoke and agreed that she should be the one to honor David. She’s perfect for it. So I reached out to Nile and, before long, we were on our way to creating what we believe will not only make a great GRAMMY Moment, but one fitting of David,” said executive producer of the GRAMMY Awards Ken Ehrlich..."
