AJH219 4,448
Let me just say this past weekend was AWFUL for the gays. First GGD went down late Friday, most of Saturday, and again on Sunday. Then, on Saturday, Grindr went down All of my usual pastimes were stricken from my fingertips and I truly didn't know what to do. Tove Lo 2,481
I have my suspicions. It's very weird and suspicious with the whole thing with that other Church Of Pop or something forum. All of a sudden once the website is down, they try recruiting people on Twitter to join their shady ass site. Like others are saying, I sent a tweet to ggd and they followed me and messaged me. It was really weird. @Admin Tbh you should block them on twitter so they can't use people who tweet GGD to recruit them. hop on that **** like a maniac

I decided to leave in silence. No one even seems to check the About Me pages anymore so I can imagine I'll have people posting on my profile to ask where I am even though the answer is right in front of them. I hope one of you bastards will find it and read these words. I've had a blast here, for many years, met amazing people, had so many memorable cackles that I will remember and treasure for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone who contributed to any of that, even my most dedicated haters. As for a simple explanation for my leaving: this forum has worn out its use for me and I feel like I never truly used it satisfyingly. The shocking truth is that I don't think much of my opinion and lately I've been thinking that no good can come of giving into that weird need to pretend your thoughts about a subject are worth reading. I don't think I have anything to say yet that is worth the cyberspace. A second explanation lies in the deteroriating value of this place. There are deep-rooted dynamics on this place that I just intensely despise and, frankly, I'm tired of being a part of a forum that cares so little about actually discussing what matters to me about the artist it is supposedly devoted so, and so much more about blindly glorifying whatever she does, and of course the ruthless and irrational negativity towards other artists. Ironically more thought is put into the criticism of other careers than the discussion of the one that should matter. A third explanation lies in the fact that many of my best friends have either gone by their own will or have been forcefully thrown out. Though I know I have amazing connections with members here, the ones that truly matter have already found their way into an online connection elsewhere, so there really is no purpose in keeping this place as a meeting ground anyway. I guess I'll log in from time to time to check if I have some messages for a few weeks just to make sure I don't close an open door too quickly. A fourth explanation is that I simply can't connect with what Gaga is doing lately. It's no secret that I keep holding her to the standard she set for herself in 2008/09 and it's clear to me now that she moved on and decided to do and value other things and that her fanbase has moved on as well. I'm just sitting here enjoying a few bits and pieces, but, really, I think I can do that better without annoying so many with my opinion about the bigger picture. I've been getting increasing amounts of negativity towards me, ironically by newer members, and it is as annoying as it is an opportunity for self-reflection: why do I do what I do and is it worth it? So. I guess that was it, folks. I'll miss people here and I'll miss the way they made me feel. I'll especially miss the people I somehow wish I had made a bigger connection with, or people I would've loved to meet to crush the online persona and see if there's something beautiful behind it. But most of all, I'll miss the people who allowed me to be me, in all my pathetically chaotic shapes and sizes, and loved me for it. I have made some true friends here and though I cringed typing that and will surely cringe writing what follows, I'll carry them in my heart forever, occasionally wondering how they're doing, possibly regretting losing touch with them and enjoying that satisfying frustration of hopeless wondering about what might have been. I wish you all a non-messy LG5 era. And now for a wish that might actually come true: I wish everyone here all that they seek out of life and the opportunity to enjoy every step of the way to it. Good luck with Lady Hasbeen and her flopping career"
Edonis 28,950
I wouldn't be shocked if that weird Church of Pop forum was behind this. They've been stalking gays and begging them to join on Twitter all week. Tragic.

SychosSoChic 9,995
So it was these "Church of Pop" flops? If I had the capacity for the emotion, I'd actually feel sorry for them. Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

FameHungry 146
Well, when I tweeted about ggd being down, Church of Pop started following me and sent me a dm saying if I like talking about popstars or whatever, to check out the forum. There's got to be some link there...
