Harry 26,836 Posted January 29, 2016 Share Posted January 29, 2016 No. Oscars would be tacky and tragic. She's there because of TIHTY which is about an issue that is bigger than her next pop album. For me it would be a huge knock to her credibility to essentially use it as a platform for her own gain rather than putting the attention on the message behind the song and film. "Hey guys, stop raping! Also pls look out for my new album coming out on ____" - it would be awful. We still don't really know what's happening with the Grammys so that would be better but I think this fanbase gets so wrapped up in announcing albums at events after the BTW/VMAs thing. It doesn't happen for a reason. The VMAs in 2010 was better because that was basically her night. If she even is performing at the actual Grammy ceremony this year she'll just be one 4 minute segment in the show lol, it would be awkward to make such an announcement during a performance. Then I thought she may drop the vid and single the morning after the Grammys, especially if she wins the Grammy and all the buzz about her is going on strong. Now, I'm beginning to think she's going to make the announcements a day after the Oscars like she waited to make her AHS announcement last year.
