StrawberryBlond 14,822
ASMR videos differ in quality and this is definitely one of the lower ones. I can barely hear some of these sounds, even with the volume turned right up! I don't think she's utilising the products as well as she could either. Her whispering is also far too loud, it's practically speaking and not relaxing at all. There's some ASMR artists who are real masters at their craft but then there's others who are pretty much just adopting a trendy new role, going through the motions with little dedication and don't really know what they're doing. Just now, Quasi said: My goodness who flips pages like that . As for the whole video - I don't get it. The point of ASMR is to put emphasis on sounds that we mostly tune out (pages flipping is a prime one) and repeatedly replicate these sounds, or watch someone else do it, until you are relaxed and sleepy. Repetition of calming sounds has been proven to relax and help insomnia. It means the videos can be very weird to watch for an outsider (tapping fingernails on books, brushing hair, crinkling materials) but they have to have these weird actions to be heard and receieved well. It means it involves really carressing an object unnecessarily to induce all potential sounds. Some people respond to it very well, others not so much. But everyone I know certainly has particular sounds that relax them that aren't music related, so I think we all have a bit of love for it in us. I'm an all-over sound fetishist, so it works for me! Alien Tulip 12,428
i love ASMR videos but this one is terrible. The way she turns those pages so obnoxiously doesn't relax me at all.
Tove Lo 2,481
ASMR sounds weird but I kind of like it. Like I didn't even realize I did. There's this guy on youtube who collects music or just normal cd's from artists but I always liked watching them when he would show off the CD's. Like I'd get this odd feeling. He's always silent and never talks but I think it's the white noise/movement of the pages and cases. hop on that **** like a maniac

I've always felt this peaceful and warming feeling whenever someone was cutting my hair or was drawing on my back, but I didn't know what was that. I was looking for the answer for so many years. THis one is my favorite. I just love the feeling and sound of latex gloves because it reminds me of a physical appointment but also I imagine Gaga in a tight black latex catsuit or britney spears in oops i did it again
