AlbiCalderone 234 Posted January 29, 2016 Share Posted January 29, 2016 I'm ITALIAN and usually big stars snub Italy for promotion but in these years (especially 2015) both Madonna and Adele came to perform and do interviews, and so did Justin Bieber, One Direction, Katy Perry and some other big artist. Gaga only made some promo in Italy in 2009 when she performed Poker Face in a small afternoon sunday show, and then she only came to Italy to perform at the 2011 EuroPride in Rome. Other than that she only had 3 tour dates in 2010, 1 in 2012, 1 in 2014 and 1 in 2015 with Tony (the only time I saw her live)... In 2010 she was really big here,when she actually did some promo here, so I hope this time she takes some big chances like Sanremo's Festival (which is too near tho) or some big talk show like Che Tempo Che Fa (where both Adele and Madonna gave a big ass long interview and performed in 2015). Born This Way sold 7M copies. 2.3M are from the united states, Those remaining 4.7M (!) are from international markets. Same with ARTPOP. 2.5M copies, only 750k are from USA. Well, depending on the level of success she wants. Who knows, she might want to climb back to the top again and be as successful as possible, or she might not care about commercial success any more and will just let the fans who want the music find it themselves. I think she will promo though because this is basically how it works... Promo = more sales = more money = more support from the record label and other influential companies = bigger, better, more spectacular shows that reach more countries around the world. And I'm pretty sure Gaga will always want to be doing something new, innovative, big, and interesting with her shows. I can't see her stripping it all back to just her, 3 backup dancers, basic lighting, and a few cheap props, all because she didn't wanna do promo and the album didn't sell. Most people here in New Zealand have no idea what ARTPOP is, don't know she released another album after BTW, only know of Applause, don't even know know that was on tour, and CERTAINLY don't know anything about C2C. Most people still think of her as the crazy horn-faced lady who wears meat. It's like being in a f*cking time warp. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
