Because gay pride comes from a place of oppression. Not sure if you know but in the U.S., most of us couldn't even get married until last year. We still aren't allowed to give blood unless we abstain from sex for a year, a lot of us still can't adopt kids, and we have hate speech flung at us daily. So we need that movement to give us a singular voice that says "Enough!". If they want to be proud of who they are, that's great! But, they're attaching their sexuality to it. They never had to fight to express their straightness. They've never turned the TV on and saw someone calling them vile abominations and wishing death on them purely for being sexually attracted to a certain gender. They've never been told they can't marry someone of the opposite sex just because they're the opposite sex. They didn't have to fight to express their heterosexuality and be respected, there's no need for straight pride. They have their rights. They're perfectly welcome to join the LGBT community's fight, there's plenty of room on the rainbow for straight people, but they're doing this in protest of the GSA at their school. Their only reason is literally to be homophobic and hateful. If they were just doing it to do it, they could get a pass for just being ignorant but they're not. They're hateful.
