I like the name Lady Gaga. It's a quirky stage name and it fit her persona back when she was this freaky enigmatic alluring outsider during the TF -> BTW eras.

Now that she's becoming more grounded and less of an enigma, I am in turn finding myself increasingly uncomfortable to refer to her as Lady Gaga.

While delivering her heartwarming speech after receiving an award the other day, talking about her past and her vulnerabilities,I thought to myself that I'm looking at Stefani here and not Lady Gaga even when she's clearly talking about Stefani.

It's not like Madonna, Prince, or Beyonce which are actual names. Even Pink feels more natural. Lady Gaga just screams artificial.

I realize that Gaga and Stefani are one and the same, but still it just feels off. Perhaps it's simply that I'm getting older, or perhaps it's just me being incapable of referring to someone by their stage name after having followed them for what feels like a decade.

In any case, I personally hope that she one day strips down to Stefani. In the meantime, I think I'll just start referring to her as Stefani, at least outside of GGD.

What about you? How do you feel about all this?

I don't care really. I call her Lady Gaga because I've been calling her that for 8 years. How she changes musically or image wise isn't going to warrant how I feel about her stage name.

Besides, the original "Lady Gaga" was created in 2006 and she had long brown hair and wore normal clothes.

Lady Gaga will remain one of the most iconic names to ever exist, I am in love with it. It's Gaga's name, she can't be a girl without a name. Stefani is the girl behind the wizard of oz.

Nah, I'll always refer to her as the one and only, Lady Gaga.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Stefani Germanotta is her personal private name. She most likely wants the two separate, and so do I. LADY GAGA is iconic.

Well I'm glad to hear your opinions. Thanks.

I realize Gaga is iconic. I suppose I'm just jaded.

@LebaneseDude, this post here sums it all up pretty well.  Good job, @brooklynnightss!   :applause:

I agree about the latter part, although it's not really personal or private given that it's a name.

Why are we monsters calling her Lady Gaga? We are allowed to call her just Gaga. And Gaga sounds like a nick name I'd put on one of my closests friends.

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
