I don't want a song sung by Rihanna, written by Sia and featuring Gaga, because I would feel like if Gaga would be depending on Rih and Sia to have a hit. I feel like it should be Rih depending on Gaga to have success.

all of it is a means to express ones self. expressing yourself is not just about putting words to paper. are you saying dancers arent expressing themselves? you think actors dont express themselves?

I agree but if Gaga wants to do then shes going to do what she wants to do. She's already writing songs with other songwriters (Diane and Elton) so its not like Sia writing a song for Gaga and Rihanna is any different

Um, I want to be a singer and artist, you didn't need to say that. I know how hard it is, but as an artist, I'd like to see myself telling my own story with my own voice, not someone else's written story with my voice. Don't take me in a bad way, I'm just not a native english speaker and sometimes I can't find the right words to say lol I try to make my point of view understandable

You said anyone can sing as if it's simple as painting your nails. Singing can be done by anyone but a vocalist is hard to achieve. Many songwriters like Diane Warren have said they dont mind other artists singing their songs because that artist applies those lyrics to their life. Being a vocalist and songwriter is a BONUS but being a vocalist is the main attraction but its a plus when the artist writes the song like Mariah Carey however there are many songwriters who are awful vocalists. Many legends aren't songwriters like Celine Dion and Whitney but its their voice that makes them unique. They sing the songs that were written for them and it becomes personal to them because they can relate to the song and they show the emotion through the performances.
