It's sad that we'll never know what the original version of Anti consisted of. Judging by what Tidal pulled down, the tracklist doesn't include any of the original singles and some of the rumoured titles never made it either (that A Night song apparently had a snippet in that Dior ad too). I can't imagine how I would feel if I was actually a fan. I liked BBHMM and AO too and A Night sounded promising. This whole thing is such a betrayal. I bet Paul McCartney's fuming that his work with her was discarded because it wasn't popular enough. He was essentially used for a hit lead single and then tossed aside when it didn't have the expected impact. And yet, this work's going to feature the album cover that likely was planned for something that closely resembled the orginal vision, which is likely very different now. I really do think she was trying more for timeless but got scared when she realised that this meant a bit less commercial success. She wants to have her cake and eat it too. At least Gaga had the guts to stand by her artistic choices, even when they weren't paying off. Rihanna spoke about this album with so much passion before. Way back when we thought we were actually getting the album after 45S, she was proudly calling it the lead single and saying that this album truly allowed her to do whatever she wanted. Clearly, she didn't believe enough in her art and only likes the art that is successful. Sad.
