scorpion 409
We're at a pivotal point in Gaga's career. One that could define the legacy she leaves behind. Do you think she has taken constructive criticism into considersation to improve her career? Do you think she doesn't care what others say or think , for better or worse? Do you think she could start taking on a bit more constructive advice, or just keep beating her own drum.....like ARTPOP per say?
Creyk 17,805
If someone criticizes her she usually says that person doesn't understand her art and moves on.

When people don't understand art ,they call it pretentious, weird and it becomes a mockery. Why would she care to take constructive criticism from the people who don't even try to understand her work and vision. Bebe 17,093
I think she takes advice from those around her that she admires, whether that be Robert Wilson or Elton John or Tony Bennett. I don't think she is scouring GGD for advice though, C2C would have never happened if it was determined by a poll by her stans

scorpion 409
I agree with one of the comments above, she certainly listens to those opinions whom she values.... and as she once said "pays no mind" to those she doesnt. And its worked quite well. Its interesting to think of the directions her career would be taking had she listened to some others.....
VTV 12,840
yes. but she should also value her Little Managers' opinion.

I still listen to her covers of La Vie En Rose almost daily, her covers of Lush Life are brilliant, But Beautiful is gorgeous. Plus it led to performances and opportunities such as her Oscars Sound of Music Tribute (one of the most iconic performances of her career) and New York, New York. It's an album of hers that I will cherish as an old Gaga fan and look upon fondly.
RAMROD 109,348
No lol, I feel that she is stubborn person, just like most artists are.

That's why the floppage and ARTPOP happened, because she valued her little managers' opinion she should just do her own thing (maybe paying some attention to some of the legends she admires' opinions)
eifulien 2,954
I think she learnt to take criticism and build on it after ARTPOP. It also allowed her to separate the groups of people that she would allow to influence her in the future. But it is kinda obvious that until the mess she was playing her cards more openly. I think BTW is an example where she fought for her vision to be executed. She convinced the label to release it and despite some singles changes the era was up to her ideas. Now she acknowledged that being on the road put excessive stress on her and the pressure for a new album led to an imperfect result - cause BTW is like a hit and miss, hit and miss - imo it's where its charm comes from. About ARTPOP - some users here say utter nonsense. Of course she won't take the criticism of people who fail to understand it. This is not the case of her being like a stubborn child. The idea was quite straightforward and many failed to see it. The criticism she is taking on ARTPOP is that - while a good album - the execution was bad and maybe the idea itself wasn't the greatest one. She overhyped it, despite saying it's just fun music for her and her friends. She acted like it was the discovery of America. She knows that now - being in pain, under huge stress, an emotional wreck that was always high - maybe she thought it's a brilliant thing and that's why she spoke so passsionately about it. She acknowledged that it could have been better in her recent interviews (what many of you took as a shade so that you can validate your opinions) Also I don't think during ARTPOP she had many yes-men. If she had we would have got some more experimental and raver material that was left for the second act... But she had to sacrifice this time some portions of her vision and make it faster. I think Gaga despite being fierce and outspoken, she actually wants to have piece in her team and is willing to co-operate. Right now, to avoid such mistakes with label, and now that she is with new management - she is doing the whole thing not on the road but at home, secretly. When she is done she will hand it in to the label and release it.
Roomingfree77 244
She is her own best critic and that is all an Artist needs to be happy and successful in this life just don't waste no time worrying when anybody else is putting stuff out cuz in this business there is always room at the top for more #1 hits
Bradley 59,023
I think she exercises extra care and definitely values criticism before her album is released. She likes every album of hers to sound perfect. She's very demanding and has the characteristics of a perfectionist. So yes, she does take constructive criticism, from the people she believes in, like Tony Bennett, Elton John, Taylor Kinney, etc. When critics give her advice or criticize her in their articles, I believe she takes those valuable and genuine ones into consideration. I do think people around her read fans' comments and Internet articles before summing them up to be presented to Gaga. But there are some critics that give bullshit arguments with no valid reasons to justify why some of her work is bad, I don't think Gaga cares about their opinion at all. Some people don't exercise care or effort in truly valuing Gaga's artistry before they criticise, hence they blame Gaga for making bad music, when in fact, they are the ones who don't see the beauty in it. Worst part? They blame Gaga for saying they don't understand her music because they think have superior opinions that prevail over Gaga's. So yeah, I think Gaga takes criticism, from people whom she values.
