SYA is nominated in a few other categories and this is TIHTY's only opportunity to receive a Grammy. Diane and Gaga are the only two writers for this very powerful and important song and both are iconic in their own rights. Not something to be overlooked. Also, aren't the GRAMMYs known for going with songs/records that were commercially successful rather than for the whole package? i don't think they only go for commercial success, since beck's album won Album of the year last year and it wasn't a huge success before winning the grammy. And thats because beck's album was amazing despite not being the biggest success. It really depends on what Gaga will do in the next few months and the quality and delivery of LG5. It is still possible for Adele to have album of the year though I'm not gonna bet on it. freebit 6,240 Posted January 25, 2016 Share Posted January 25, 2016 As for the competition, It's up against Glory, which seems hard to beat, and even though the Oscars were not here for SYA, the Grammys might not turn their noses up at it since it was a well known radio hit. We have to consider that the voting NARAs members are music business types and fellow musicians, whereas being from a acclaimed documentary from two respected film makers might have helped TiHTY's chances with the Oscars in a way that it doesn't with the music oriented Grammys.
