andy232000 11,647
i didn´t quite like the ending the first time, because it served as an epilogue not a finale material, but its more like the writers were looking to find a resolution for the "heroes" (Iris and Liz) as well as the "misunderstood" (Sally) and leave the "villains" (The Countess, John, Donovan, James) without a happy ending. Iris: finds peace in the hotel after remodeling it, stops killing, and fixes her relationship with her son Liz: re-unites with her son, becomes a grandma, re-unites and finds love Sally: stops feeling pain after becoming a "teenager addicted to the phone" but doesnt quite find her soulmate John: despite finishing the 10C he looses his family, his most precious thing and only gets to see them one a year. The Countess: not only does she loose the love of her life TWICE, but she´s stuck with Dr. Mach, a man she doesnt love at all, and in search for her replacement for Donovan (even though it can be inferred she will never find it, as she said she never was able to find the replacement for Rodolf, there is no reason to believe she´ll succeed to find the replacement for Dono. We also see that The Countess admits to be a curse, showing she might even be sad about herself as well. the "You have Jawline for days" quote is just to show that she is still in "seek of salvation" by trying to find the love of her life, or in her case "the next best thing". however the ending is open so we never know if she finds it or not James P. March: he manages to get The Countess Killed so he can stay with her forever, be he has to deal with the fact that the only woman he loved, doesnt love him back

AlexanderLevi2 5,849
I think it had to do that addiction will always be with us, even in death. With Sally, although she "overcame" her addiction with drugs, she moved on to something else... And that was social media/herself. The Hotel is an addiction itself and no one wants to leave, Liz Taylor. Currently listening to Joanne

Just avoid disrespect so the mods dont have to give out warning points, thats all

Wow, what a realistic rule! pls elaborate on that. you said that it was clear even a HS student would understand, which really isnt that big of a deal, but it wasnt necessary, and i wasn´t the only one who said so. Of course shady gifs are allowed, as long as you´re not using them in the incorrect way. telling me to "Shut up" isnt precisely correct

I just thought that OP could have rephrased his question that would not make him look like someone who's too lazy to think. Of course, I get it; the ending is open-ended blah blah blah. That's why I didn't say anybody's stupid or that I'm the only one who's right in this thread. What I didn't like was all of you ganging up on me. You clearly saw the others throwing me under and you just couldn't hold your high horse and stop yourself from jumping on me. Instead of arguing against me on the merits or the lack thereof of my comments, you use my newbie status as an attack against me. That's so unfair. How the hell am I supposed to rebut that. Thats exactly what made me comment. i was just trying to sort you out in case you didnt knew the rules or manners of how this site works. AND even if you weren´t new, that doesnt mean im just following a trend. i would´ve called you out anyway to stop any possible dispute.

She died single, technically, and is still looking for her man. See, I took it a her looking fro a replacement of Donovan now instead. When she found out he was willing to sacrifice his own life for her love she realized she loved him because he loved her the way she loved Valentino. He was more devoted to her than Valentino could ever be - and right as she finally learned that, he was gone. With him no longer in the hotel and her stuck there for eternity she seeks companionship in someone just like he was, no longer Valentino.
