Nintendo of America has today confirmed that a controversial conversation that is found in the Japanese version of Fire Emblem Fates will not be featured in the North American or European release. The conversation revolves around a controversial “drugging”/”gay conversion” support conversation.

“In the version of the game that ships in the U.S. and Europe, there is no expression which might be considered as gay conversion or drugging that occurs between characters.”

“In the Japanese version…One of the female characters, Soleil, is attracted to women, and often gets flustered and weak in the knees when she’s around them. She often fears that she can’t be a “strong and cool woman” because of this. Later in the support conversations if you pair her up with the male protagonist, he spikes her drink with a “magic powder” that makes her see women as men and vice-versa to help her “practice” around women. This was done without her knowing, as she fails to recognize the protagonist at the start of the conversation. Once the magic wore off, she found herself attracted to the male protagonist, and ends up proposing to him, saying that she fell in love with the female version of him, but now loves him as a male.”

Currently neck-beards around the world are frothing at the mouths because any instance of "censorship" even including needed ones as above, will apparently bring an end to the world. The comments section is just volatile. Apparently not being ok with drugging and orientation conversion makes people "SJW pussies" :poordat:

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

That is a good censorship, I think?

No way spiking and gay conversion scenes (in this case, lesbian to straight woman) are good things!

So I support this move by US Nintendo.

The States have legalised same sex marriage, but the battle goes on, one of them are something like this.

Where's the problem? If there's even one.

Reading it and it doesn't look like a drugging scene honestly people just like to overreact.

My neck isn't beardy but I do take their side on this. What is censoring stuff like this supposed to accomplish?

Yes Nintendo, delete that messy scene. Americans are already dumb ago when it comes to LGBT ****. No need imply drugs-or anything-can change your sexual orientation tbh:applause:

Nintendo was one of the first companies to include a transgender character-don't get it twisted tho. :gaycat:

So he drugs her to make her straight? First I thought he was drugging her to make her gay and was a little confused haha

so what did they leave it as? Is she no longer gay and just in love with the protag? Or is she completely gay and never has her drink spiked? Cause the difference in those two I think would be more controversial than the original story line
