You're not seriously comparing Elton John to Iggy Azalea, right? Are you ****ing kidding with me? Elton is a pop legend, and a great songwriter and performer. Gaga is also a huge fan of him, plus she's a godmother to his 2 sons. Their collaboration is more then natural, not only because they're almost family, but also because they are two of the best icons on pop music. According to wikipedia he wrote "the majority of the star's songs"... Taupin's lyrics include such songs as "Rocket Man", "Levon", "Crocodile Rock", "Honky Cat", "Tiny Dancer", "Candle in the Wind", "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", "Bennie and the Jets", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters", "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", "The Bitch is Back", "Daniel", and 1970's "Your Song", their first hit. Hits in the 1980s include "I'm Still Standing", "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues", "Sad Songs", and "Nikita." In the 1990s, Taupin and John had more hits, including "The One", "Simple Life", "The Last Song", "Club at the End of the Street" and "Believe." In September 1997, Taupin rewrote the lyrics of "Candle in the Wind" for "Candle in the Wind 1997", a tribute to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Taupin But I would say Elton has written alot of his own as well ... and probably with in conjunction with him. Nicole 1,809
If he didn't share his thoughts on ARTPOP no one would be questioning her working with him lol. Maybe i'm biased bc I love Elton John and grew up listening to him, but I am all for them working together. He is incredible.

Elton John released an album that year are you suggesting it sold better than ARTPOP coz when you say it did not do well I assume you mean it "flopped"? In anycase all he said was it was not good he didn't say anything about whether it sold but it is interesting that ARTPOP was derided for not selling and yet outsold alot of others who did not receive such complaints.. Well in that case I am sure Elton & Bernie's flopped a lot worse although i can't find the figures. With Elton it is hardly someone who has always put out the most healing music so we can only really be talking about money unless the issue is that the music was actually good or more good than desired. I suppose he might object to various things that he hasn't said but hopefully gaga is not overly influenced by the great sir elton bernie in any wrong ways coz you know he is such a big star he might have considerable influence over her which may not result in her pursuing her true purpose which i really hope she pursues you know maybe wishful thinking but I like gaga. Like Iggy Azalea. or Kerli. Some kids here seem to confuse taste with talent. Just because you personally don't like someone, doesn't mean their not talented. Elton John is an iconic songwriter. He may seem outdated to some, but if you give it a listen you'll see his work stands the test of time. Just imagine someone else singing those same ballads in your mind, and maybe you'll hear it. 9 hours ago, deeman said: Don't think so. Gaga is Gaga and John is John. Just because Gaga plays piano doesn't means shes copying John. There has been piano performances for hundreds of years and Gaga is much better than John imo. No way Gaga can boogie down on a piano like Elton can jet. He's a master at that, it would take Gaga a bit more practice. You can tell he inspired her style, she is very groovy on the keys for a classically trained pianist. They both make a piano rock. He does have a rude side to him, I for example couldn't stand him attacking Madonna at the Golden Globes, it's childish and unnecessary. But at least he's honest and speaks his mind which I can only imagine is good in the life of Gaga. And I'm pretty shure her eloquent polite manners will rub off on Elton a bit Musically they are capable of writing the most beautiful ballad or rock n roll bop on the planet and I'm so here for it. These will forever be my favs: According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
rocketnumber9 6
Elton is legendary! Also I don't think she is featuring him, probably just getting help with writing which could only be positive. ~dan~

Like Iggy Azalea. or Kerli. I don't even know where to start. Darling, Sir Elton is a LIVING LEGEND of pop and rock music. He has written some of the most iconic songs in the history of pop music besides being an all around musician. How can you even question his talent? And worse, compare Elton with the likes of newbies like Iggy Azaelia and Kerli? Who the the hell are even those two? Never heard Kerli's music and Iggy is a rapper who appropriates black culture and music but has no sympathy for the struggles of black people. And if Elton pretended to be straight in the 80's, it might still not be easy being gay nowadays, we might still have many rights to conquer but back then, being gay was officially a disease, for which people would be sent to asylums. OMG, I literally can't believe how preposterous is what you said. LMAO
VOLANTIS 16,404
You do not mention Elton John A MOTHER ****ING LEGEND and Iggy Azealia (I dont dislike her but come on... and also that other girl who has yet to break out) in the same sentence.
