None of you can point out why she is wrong because she isn't wrong.

Can you imagine "The first annual white man awards"? Either be together or apart. You can't have all your own toys and share the toys of everyone else too.

She is wrong because whites are not (and were never) oppressed minority. White is "the norm", everyone else is the person of colour

All the mainstream awards are already often white men awards, they just don't have that name.

I must have missed the men's section at billboards women in music awards, and the music of white origin awards ceremony.

That is an entirely racist generalization. I'm white and you don't know what the hell I've gone through as a person. I've been rejected based on gender and skin colour for various things in the name of this sick 21st century "equality" movement.

Rejected based on skin color...you need to be more specific.

Your personal experience doesn't negate the fact that white people are not oppressed minority.

By having black history it separates a lot of famous black people from the standard curriculum. We shouldn't be having to go out of our way to teach black history, because black history should be taught everyday through the year.

There is no self hating behind this.

She wants everyone to be looked at the same, everyone in the U.S is an American.

"White people" which ones? Does that include me? But I am oppressed daily. Wait, is it ok for me to be oppressed as a white man, but if I categorized myself as a gay man, suddenly that's discrimination?

Equality is equality, not special privileges for those that feel "oppressed". No millionaire actor is oppressed. Don't be ridiculous. Either I'm equal as a gay man, or I'm the oppressive majority as a white man. Which is it this week?

I'm also Italian and Romanian gypsy if that makes me any less white, which it doesn't.

Where is Asian history month, aboriginal history month, ginger history month, Spanish history month etc. Why black? Because the racism debate has elevated one particular race above all others, yet the oppression card is used.

You know, I can't even lock my car doors when a gang of unsavoury acting black teenagers are around because it's "racist". It's NOT RACIST I'd they look like they're going to car Jack you. Regardless of their race. Am I expected to invite them in for a cup of tea?! But when a black professional man does the same near a gang of white teenagers, it's because they're unsavoury looking. Why isn't he also accused of racism?!

If equality was the goal, highlighting separation would be axed. Unfortunately equality isn't the goal.

I agree with her. She's absolutely right.

Off topic but kinda still the same: I always thought the idea of all black colleges are incredibly closed minded when you juxtapose them to a potential all white college. Or an award show for only white entertainers (hold your academy awards snarky remarks) to parallel an award show for all black entertainers.

And what she said about we are all Americans, I was thinking about this today, blacks are called African Americans when they weren't born there, just ancestors. Well my ancestors were born in italy/poland but I'm considered American, or white. So I'm confused on that as a whole.

Regardless, no one can have civil conversations about race, so if you disagree with me, please put it eloquently so we can actually attempt an intellectual conversation and not an exchange of snippy rude shade.

I think she is right. The breakdown of white people has recently reached a whole new level of delusional. It began after Barack because I remember my high school really pushing the whole "white guilt" thing. You were forced to like Barack Obama because he was the first black president and not based on whether you agreed with him or not (which ironically is kind of racist to me). It's continued with the Black Lives Matter effort which claims it is about police targeting races yet that movement is the most racist, anarchist, uncooperative political effort in America today. They told people that were white and Asian that they had to leave a peace circle in Missouri at a university sponsored event because it was for blacks only and "whites and Asians wouldn't understand" (as if no white or Asian person has struggled before).

Alot of people don't even talk about inner black racism and the social hierarchy. My mixed twin friends that grew up in a primarily black grade school had to transfer to a primarily white school because people would bully and harass them and say they weren't black enough. It culminated to a point where the all black PTA at their school had members calling their white mom a ***** for stealing "from their culture." Their dad and mom got a divorce that year because of the pressure from the black side of their family.

It's just gotten so out of hand. And I really don't think Martin Luther King Jr. would have wanted this.

It culminated the other day when people were bashing Sam Smith for sticking up for people of color. Like....no matter what white people do...they are wrong because they didn't grow up black.

I mean....why do I have to understand everything about your culture and background to be your friend? It's like black people are placing more emphasis on being black more than white people are. Shouldn't you be happy that people aren't looking at you as a stereotype anymore? And now that people are just liking what they like and being themselves...it's called appropriation or whiteplaining. It's ridiculous. If somebody comes up to me and says "oh...I like your shirt" I'm not going to stop them and force them to understand why I bought the shirt, how I chose it, what influenced me to choose that style....I'm going to say thank you and move on. Same thing with people....I'm just going to like who I like and I don't feel like I need to know their entire race culture to be their friend or empathize with them.

We are all human. That's the race we need to focus on.

You still didn't answer when/where/how were you rejected based on your skin colour? Are you talking about dates or something more serious like job application/university?

Idk what locking cars has to do with anything, no one said you'd be racist for that. But it's unclear why does it bother you that America has BET awards, Black History Month etc. This woman is just a puppet and accessory to Fox News, they even had one black reporter to show white cop rescuing a puppy and that of course negates all the police brutality. They'll never bring someone to represent minorities who disagrees with them.

That's not true. White people have been oppressed plenty of times throughout history.

What the Shock Pop is saying is that you can't bitch about what you just labeled "a white man's show" being whitewashed because you think black people should be included more, and then have an award show explicitly for blacks and say white people can't win.
