Batwings 12,885
I was Team Gypsy
Mobster 14,604
Venus winning... Interesting... Wonder what the results would look like if Venus had been released and had flopped... GUY would have probably been considered the single that got away... #Facts But I'm only a man and I do what I can.
ArtGagaPop 61,940
I was team gypsy, but between these two i wanted Venus.
Whispering 18,865
Neither. Both were poor selections for radio singles.
Arizona Sky 10,913
Definitely G.U.Y. I had that song on repeat for awhile & thought it would smash
hijadeputa 3,936
It's obvious people say Venus now because of G.U.Y.'s flop, but back in that time the majoriy wanted G.U.Y as a single
Chris Evans 8,917
I was #TEAMVENUS then #TEAMGUY as the next single they were like part I and part II G.U.Y. is my absolute favorite MV from her though so I'm not disappointed although if I knew it was going to be last single I would've taken my chances with the Venus video

wahkeenasitka 1,995
honestly G.U.Y. i still think it was the strongest song on ARTPOP. easily the first song on the album that really grabbed me and took me into an ecstatic journey. i like Venus, but the "don't you know my ass is famous" line would not have gone over well as a single. TimisaMonster 31,073
Venus...the visuals looked dark...the video was planned...the second single was chosen...Gaga gave it a mini era and promoted it...I was all for it Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Nino 12
literally bye at all the little managers now claiming Venus was the better choice when 2 years ago y'all were convinced GUY was going to be #1 for 4,000 weeks
Pacify Him 9,073
The real battle for me is Venus vs DWUW actually. I’m getting on your nerves
ARTPOPNick 3,486
GUY was even more radio friendly than Venus, those hooks were just too much(for a radio station).. But even the best song ever would have flopped, it's just because the era was dead as f****
hELXIG 43,035
If I remember correctly wasn't Venus accidentally mentioned as the second single when they put out the first promo image for ARTPOP? The one where Gaga had the brown hair (before it grew 5x the size LOL) and the white 'ski mask'. And it said something like "ARTPOP, with singles Applause and Venus", but was then taken down really quickly and replaced with a version that only mentioned Applause. And then they later started promoting Venus for real with 3 album covers shot by Nick Knight... But then she dropped Do What u Want as a promo single, and it charted really, well so they cut Venus as a single and instantly decided to replace it for DWUW. Which as we all know was canned after being filmed for somewhat unclear reasons.... And by this point her label had given up on the era and wouldn't fund another video, so she had to release another commercially viable single and ended up choosing GUY and paid for, and directed it herself... Ugh I forgot how messy this era was gawd. AAAANYWAY, the point I was trying to get to before this stroll down memory lane, was that I was here for Venus from the start. I always loved Venus, from the moment I listened to the snippets when she released them on Youtube and was hoping for a video right away. So I'm 100% team Venus! And like Dance In The Dark and Scheisse, I demand #JusticeForVenus (P.S. I loved GUY as a single though. I was still gagging every second of that video and the songs has always been one of my favs off the album. If I had a choice, both Venus and GUY would've been singles, but I was stanning for Venus much harder at the time!) I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
