How unified are we if people of color are getting literally NO recognition for their hard work in the industry? Not at all. It was high-past-time that someone of influence took a real stand against the Academy's failure to recognize people of color. I join Jada in her boycott of the Oscars and, while I wish Gaga and Warren all the luck in the world, will not be watching. who do you think you are to make the assumption about people? you know NOTHING about me, and if you do, you would never make that comment about me. i´ve been through SO many **** in my life and im far from privilaged. my family and I have worked hard to maintain us afloat and if there is something i cant tolerate is people calling me "the rich boy" straight of the bat. YOU benefit from the togetherness and unity - so what? now only a group of people benefit themselves out of togetherness? if that were true people wouldn´t even try to be united. Darren 44
I don't know. I can't think of a better actor than these nominees. Samuel L Jackson is just an okay for me. Not really stands out that much. Idk. eat me out
Azor Ahai 18,861
Oscars being racist(which I dont think is true) is hardly the biggest problem blacks and other racial minorities face in the world right now... She needs to get her priorities straight. If she wants to start a "movement" it should be about more important issues than Will Smith(her husband) not getting nominated for an award. elijahfan 26,311
You know what annoys me the most here? Apart from the fact the Smiths really need to get over themselves, I'd like to point out the fact that there's more than ****ing ACTORS in the filmmaking industry....... All actors nominated are white, and what about the other categories? Why do we scream with outrage only when it concerns the actors? Would Jada Pinkett Smith boycott the Oscars if this issue concerned, I don't know, the sound editor nominees? It's easy to be outraged for your own, but her husband and her are part of a much bigger industry. There are people of color nominated in the technical categories, as well as Mexicans in bigger categories like Alejandro Iñarritu and Emmanuel Lubzki - oh but they're not actors, so they must count for nothing right? I just can't stand this emphasis on the "holy comedian".

Right... it's just a bloody ceremony and a piece of metal. Maybe they should spend a couple of weeks in third-world countries and see what's up. I don't really see anyone who necessarily deserved a nom, and Jada isn't up to speak about it until her husband doesn't get what he wants. She's biting the hand that feeds; and i'm sure her career is going to take a hit for it.
