Not necessarily. In fact you could also argue that it takes some of the spotlight off of Gaga and reminds everyone what the song is actually about :emma:

How?

What bothers me about this move from Perry was her intention behind the post.

Why would you speak out in the midst of Gaga's success? Whats the real intention here?

What a shame.

Source though?

I really don't remember Gaga saying she changed anything about the actual composition. Sure, she made it sound more aggressive etc. to make it sound like a victory song, but I don't recall her saying she actually changed Diane's basic composition. Someone here earlier said Gaga made more complex chords, but there are no complex chords in TIHTY and I can't imagine how they could be any more simple tbh.

I mean, if Gaga herself said the song was pretty much finished when she got connected to the project and they only made changes to widen the demographic, then why should we believe she changed something substantial about the composition itself?

I just think Diane gave it to her not because she changed melodies and chords, but just because the song sounded and felt entirely different after their meeting. Not necessarily a major change in composition. I mean, you have to remember that Linda says someone else was planned to sing the song so there's just no way Gaga wrote the melody.

I can't remember if they were speaking specifically about TIHTY or about songwriting in general, but during that podcast Gaga and Diane were talking about how Gaga likes to analyze and play with every melody and detail to figure out if little adjustments can somehow make it even better, whereas Diane had a more simplistic approach and prefered to keep her songs in their purest form.

That doesn't directly answer anyting relating to TIHTY but it would make sense if this difference in workflow also had an impact on that song once Gaga joined the project.

Her pain...why is she ignoring Gaga's experience, pain and relation to the song?

Worst scenario: she doesn't even know Gaga was sexually assaulted (improbable)

Most likely: she just means that Gaga only changed one sentence and that therefore the song's lyrical power (the main expression of the painful experience of course) should only be connected to Diane. Gaga's role (amping up the song's sound and of course singing the actual song) could've been carried out by any producer or professional singer. Gaga's pain and experience is shown in the promo interviews, not in the song.

Wouldn't read too much into it.

Well, if this year becomes a repeat of 2013, we know who to drag through the mud.

One thing- please, don't you EVER take comments on Daily Mail seriously. If there's one place you should totally ignore reading comments on any article, it's DM

If Diane responds at all it'll probably just be a comment about how Gaga deserved her writing credit by transforming her initial ideas and changing the outcome of the song. I doubt she'll drag anyone :rip: Linda literally said she didn't mean to be negative or insulting in any way.

Plus, if Linda deleted her tweets why do y'all expect there will be a response at all.
