StarstruckIllusion 52,560
Can we stop reviving old threads, please? Pray for the GGD admins who have to deal w/ this current trend tho I don't even know how y'all are doing this, because I don't see any search function to find old threads, but stop. Currently Active Threads = Currently Relevant Threads, aka not ones that are 6 months old. i really don't want an automatic function on locking threads a month after they're created, bc it'd suck and if someone makes a thread asking for like... idk the official IWYL Instrumental, and someone finds it 32 days later... oops. Maybe algorithms need to be adjusted to where 2 or 3 posts doesn't cause a thread to serve a, Born This Way teas, debuting at the top of the Currently Active charts, but I'm over thinking an old thread = new news. I don't have an eternal memory.

andy232000 11,362
i have been insisting also that there should be a scanner feature that activates when you click "post new thread" because all of these AP threads are also getting out of control. similar to how the old Littlemonsters.com had a filter and if someone had posted a photo before you, you couldnt create the new post, it deleted plagarism in that page, and it could avoid AP threads here. Ferrer Zorola 3,966
so what's the point in collecting the threads if mods and admin don't want us to scavenge it would be a better idea to simply put a date of expiry on every topic LIFE IS GOOD

There are sometimes old threads I want to read again. For example, imagine you want to read some pre-Born This Way thread where people tell their ideas or expectations for the album (basically because it's fun to see what people thought before an album came out) and it's deleted. It'd be frustrating

Clip 5,100
Just now, Ferrer Zorola said: so they want us to read them if we want but to not say anything at all Exactly Anyways, I don't think there's anything wrong with commenting in old threads as long as they aren't unnecessary or negative threads no one wants to see. (For instance, some months ago, someone bumped and old thread from 2013/14 where some tumblr account was saying that Gaga cuts herself. It was obviously fake and it wasn't a nice thread)

Just to clairify It depends on the thread and the discussion, plus what effect the bump has It's not really black or white with a specific number of days If I had to put a number on it then I'd say above a month or so generally - it mostly applies to news threads because that's when age really matters, but again it depends on the subject matter and stuff 1 hour ago, Clean said: what if it's accidental That's fine, we learn from our warnings and they expire - just try not to do the same accident again
