Amy Winehouse biopic: should Gaga do it?

Watching Amy (the Oscar nominated documentary) for a second time, and it's sort of ignited my interest that Gaga should at least consider starring in a possible future biopic. We've seen that her acting skills have improved and been acclaimed by critics, showing that she could work her way into a serious role like playing Amy. Mitch Winehouse (her father) did mention that Gaga would be perfect for the role (apart from being Italian and American). It's honouring that Gaga was even mentioned in the same sentence as Amy, but could something really come from this in a few years, a lead in a significant movie?

I don't think Gaga could do it. Gaga hasn't been able to show off her acting skills playing the role of a totally different person yet. The Countess is Gaga. Her other small roles were very Gaga. I think that role should go to an actress that's more capable of doing it. Also, Gaga is older than Amy. She wouldnt be able to look like a 22 yr old again and their build is very different.

Remember when she was totally channeling Amy Winehouse during this performance?

But it would still feel weird if she did :ohno: I don't really want her to...

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

It sounds great in theory but can you imagine the backlash if she didn't do the role justice :toofunny: I do think she's capable though

gaga is the only one who's be able to do amy justice ,the look, the voice ,the passion and if Amy's father agrees then why not .think about all the covers of Amy's songs we might receive as a result.

Whenever there's a biopic about a tragic celeb death, the family always wants to stop it.  Afraid of being exposed.

After seeing "Amy", I don't have a high opinion of her father.

He was the guy trying to make it happen at first, he was just denying the current rumours of a biopic
