Maybe the academy just thought that no black actor this year deserved to win? I didn't say the Academy was racist, I'm saying that black actors who gave great performances were snubbed. As far as I see, there's just not enough black/latin/asian people being cast in movies and getting opportunities of showcasing their talents. And even when they do, they hardly ever get the really good parts...I mean, you have TV, where more space and better parts are given to people who are not caucasian, and Taraji and Viola, for example, do great things and get the recognition they deserve...but the movie industry is not in the same place yet... I think the problem that should be addressed is not "non-whites not getting nominations", it should be "non-whites not being cast in the same proportion that they do exist in society and being frequently 'typecasted'"...this is the real issue, but, unsurprisingly, people are more worried about the symptoms than about the disease, so...have a good fight about it, children ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally.
