But shouldn't it be his friends? People he worked with? We all know Gaga adored Bowie and was hugely influenced by him, but that can be said a lot of artists. I feel like most fans just want her to do the tribute to tick another box of the acclaimed cover performances she's been doing over the past year or so. But this is different, an icon has just died. It would be weird to see so many of his contemporaries and friends in the audience while Gaga is up there alone just because she's young and successful... It would be pretty self-centred during something that's supposed to be remembering someone else.

It would be a beautiful statement - I understand many here hate Madonna, but they've made "peace" so I think it would be even greater seeing them together and honoring Bowie.

What if Madonna could perform via network in a huge jumbo screen behind Lady Gaga and they meshed it with images or scenes of Bowie? We're far in the 21st century, surely something like long distance performances have been done before?

I would think a mix would be nice...some artist friends he worked with over the years and some younger artists that were inspired by him and will continue to use his inspiration in the future for newer generations of music listeners. That's what I usually see in tributes, whether they are a ten minute segment on an award's show or a two hour tribute show. It shows remembrance, but also that their influence will live on in generations to come.

There's not time for that now, before the Grammys, but they could plan a tribute event for next year.

Madonna won't cancel those shows in Asia, they're so profitable and she's not really that often in Asia.

I don't know if Gaga will perform Bowie tribute if she's performing Intel x Gaga thing, but maybe they're changing Intel x Gaga performance

Yes I agree that would be much better. But a line-up of Gaga/Madonna or even just Gaga alone would be in bad taste imo.
