I mean, when you were trying to put down the acclaim for Gaga's Oscars performance I knew something was up and it wasn't pretty. But you're missing the whole point: Gaga revived her career by NOT releasing catchy pop tunes and by NOT doing what people expected she'd do. I mean, do you seriously not see how the general opinion (in media) about her has changed in just two years where she only released one solo track (and not even really, since it was part of a documentary)? Her entire reputation has done a 180 and she is 1000x better off than when she was starting the ARTPOP era or even the BTW era for that matter, because all the focus now is on the quality of her work and her person. Her steady and amazing success in 2014/15/16 isn't rocket science either but you still fail to see it. Gaga is successful rn and she has been satisfied with what she's doing for the first time in years since the start of the C2C era. You should be happy. But you're not. And because of what I quoted above, now I don't even understand why you're not. She is in the absolute best place right now. Why are you trying to paint a dark picture? I don't understand it.. I really don't. I have a question. TIHTY was released during what you believe is Gaga's revival in her career. How did that commercially do? You're making it seem like Gaga is the It-Girl atm which is far from the truth I'm not happy because she hasn't released music that I like yet. I hope when LG5 will be released that I'll feel that excitement again. To be honest, I just waited for the AHS to finish so we can get some excitement going on here before LG5. Also, her V Magazine January Take-Over was a little disappointing. I don't know, I just expected alot more I guess. I Want Your Love was my favorite thing in 2015, I know you agree with me on that atleast. There are alot of things that disappointed me and the Oscars moment isn't one of them btw. I loved it and am so happy for the response it got. I'm not going to argue again whether it was mainstream enough or not though.

I agree perfectly though that TIHTY was not successful in terms of commercial success or even streams or YouTube views or anything. On the other hand, it gave her massive amounts of good press, the song was acclaimed, the video was acclaimed and obviously the message was a lot more important than the song as a single release. The message came across. I'm satisfied with that. But you know I don't care about commercial success, so this was to be expected tbh. The rest of your post is what I accused you of: trying to tear down all her achievements simply because things aren't going your way. Nothing wrong with that. But definitely a sad reason to make a thread.

But yeah, I want to love the Gaga I fell in love with. Don't we all? That means... I don't think I'm here for a rock album for example although I do love some of her rock covers. I want the good ol' Gaga with her amazing theatrics skills and her catchy yet meaningful tunes. Is that bad that i want that from her? I mean... we will still get to see the classically trained Gaga but if you're asking me what I want for her album? I want Gaga I fell in love with in the first place. What you are failing to understand here is that fans "feel in love" with Gaga for different reasons. What you personally want and need from her could be miles away from I am looking forward to in her next solo era. We don't all want the same thing from her. Some are here for pop hits, some are here for a meaningful album or one we can relate personally to, some are here for the art she intertwines in her eras, some love the theatrics...some don't and some don't care one way or the other, some want more of the passionate person that cares about social issues and some don't want her to go near that part of herself. What is "everyone here for"? Because I can't come up with a definitive answer to that question, due to so many fans wanting such different things from her! Right now, Gaga is the person I feel in love with! One who has come back from a near career ending injury and a crippling bout of Major Depression to show the world that you don't quit...that you keep going and that you learn new things about yourself along the way. I love the evolved, grown-up Gaga...the woman that has learned to slow down, say no, put herself first sometimes, try new things and still has passion and dedication to her fans and for creating music! I mean.. why not? That would spread it's message even more. I think TIHTY was aimed for critical acclaim more than anything to be quite honest. It's obvious Gaga's team and Dianne were pushing it to be nominated at the Grammys and Oscars. I dislike the song but that doesn't mean I can't tell whether a song is a success or not. I dislike Telephone too but it was definitely a success. I think TIHTY's success is determined by how it's message managed to spread worldwide. If it managed to be played on the radio next to big hits and it's video getting 100m+ views- then yes, it's a success. It didn't though. She didn't want it to be commercial succesful at all, cause she was raped herself and already told the world through the interviews that it also happened to her, and if she was about to make it #1 everyone would call her fake for making up the story about rape (which isn't true). That's why she didn't want that to happen. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

deeman 189
Some of these comments on a tihty video are amazing. "this song is helping me get by to be honest.." "I just finished my trial process from my attacker, I can't get through the entire song without weeping or having an anxiety attack, but this song saved my life and gave me the strength to finish. And yes, I WON MY CASE. But I still struggle with depression from that event til this day. Thank you lady Gaga." "this my fav song from lady gaga I don't really listen to her until I hear this song ommg!!!!"
