JazzGa 14,620
YouTube comments are the scum of human existence jizzing their impotent rage into the void of cyberspace... why would anyone use them as a standard against which to judge the "general zeitgeist" My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <

It did touch hundreds of thousands perhaps but that's really nothing and has little to no impact to her general image. What kind of bollocks though. Of course it has an impact! You don't see any journalist or tabloid rn writing about her as if she's still stuck in 2010 It's these tabloids and online news sites etc. that define public opinion for an extremely large part. And how do you even measure her general image? Clearly you know what it is (you claim that her image is still the girl who wore meat) but where is that information coming from? 14 minutes ago, Ronlop said: I found her original image much more interesting and I think that's why 99% of us are even here in this site and that's truly what most of this fanbase want back. Well, to be blatantly honest, I think you're just projecting that desire onto the idea of a "general image". 14 minutes ago, Ronlop said: To sum it up,Gaga didn't win the GP back in 2015. She won maybe hundreds or thousands but yes, that is not enough to say that she "Re-invented her public image" and I heard that alot here in GGD. I guess it just generally worries me that this fanbase now puts so much emphasis on award shows like the Golden Globes to prove "Gaga is slaying". And no.. she reinvented her public image because she has been singing jazz for two years, has made a world tour with the legendary Tony Bennett, has started to act on a well-known tv show, won a Golden Globe for it, performed at the Grammy's and the Oscars and appeared in all of those events I just mentioned as a performer looking 200% different than the general image you claim people are still hung up on. Even if people have picked up anything remotely related to anything I just said, it would be so different compared to her "general" meat dress image that I say she would have reinvented her image successfully in that precise second, since the only thing that holds your general image together is one outfit. Anyone who has seen more than one popular picture/look of her at these events (probably at the most talked about events in the entertainment business: the Grammy's and the Oscars) would be instantly convinced that she's not walking around like that anymore, hence the image changes. About the "slaying" part: Gaga is literally picking up achievement after achievement and maybe that doesn't concern some random kid who doesn't even like pop music, but why should we care about him caring about Gaga or her achievements? The people who care, care and there are a lot of people who care or at least will notice her doing some incredible things (I mean, winning a Golden Globe isn't nothing - it's an extremely well-known award that is often used to crank up someone's name at events, like a Grammy) and you not finding that enough is your own problem imo and you should consider it to be your own problem. If people really expect her album sales to increase dramatically because of this year, fine, in that case I agree that the expectations are unnecessarily high, but you're not talking about that, you're talking about Gaga having changed her image and I see way more proof that she has than that she hasn't and so far you haven't even used proper arguments to prove you're right. All you're saying is that she hasn't done enough. So that convinces me again that you're just applying your own biased standard and there's simply nothing we can say in this thread that will be of any use to anyone because of it. Gaga Monster 13,001
Kids/teens/college kids still don't know about this Jazz and Acting. So in my opinion she hasn't fully won the GP back and she better get this album ready with hits or else she will do permanent damage to her career. If she doesn't perform at The Grammys and Brits she will be making one of the biggest mistakes of her career. GGD Presidential Elections

If we go by YouTube comments, then every artist and celebrity is hated! What I can't belive is that people here haven't figured that out yet!

Even in that case, why should we care? They'll notice she's back during LG5 then. I mean, what's the problem here? If those people didn't hear anything about her jazz performance at the Grammy's or her classical performance at the Oscars, why do you expect them to hear something about her performing at the 2016 Grammy's? The BRITs is a different story of course, but honestly, would people seeing her there have such a big impact, I don't know.. I mean, biggest mistake of her career She performed at these events multiple times throughout her career, and it didn't change much for her.

(Just a theory) Nothing could be further from the truth! Have you looked at the polls or threads here asking what people want for LG5? We have everything from bubble gum pop to pop rock to metal to jazz to piano ballads to disco to funk to EDM to R&B...mentioned as directions that fans here would like to see. We do have fans that want a return to TFM days, but we have a ton of fans that want more songs like those found on BTW or like DWUW or even DOPE. The wants for the next album and era are all over the place! Fans are here from every era, and many fans here appreciate her rock type, jazz or piano songs over her pop songs. Then there are the fans who don't go to any type of fanforum and the casual fans out in the world outside of music forums. Please don't try to speak for "99 per cent" of this fanbase, because there is no way to do that!

Everyone thinks she has been gone for 3 years and honestly haven't thought or cared about her. The Grammys is the most viewed music award show as well as The Brits, perfect time to make a comeback! So many people will know she is back. Perfect promo week. Gaga and her team need to get her name out there in the pop culture world as quick as possible, which would be around The Grammy's and Brits. Plus Intel will design the Grammy performance which would surround even more hype around this event. Honestly I will be worried with her new management team if she doesn't take advanatage of this. Mast 980
Has she recovered from the backslash of Judas and ARTPOP? Yes. Has she completely won back the GP? Not yet. The music has to speak for itself. That being said, all my friends who are known to hate Gaga have been generally positive about her new looks. They've said the Oscars and GGs outfits were their favorite outfits that she has worn.

Why would that attract people who ignored her for the last three years? I just don't get why we're so desperate to make people who obviously don't care about her notice her. From what I can guess, they're not the people who will illegally download/stream/buy her music and/or go to her concerts
