No amazing vocals like Gaga, Adele, Beyonce No high energy like Beyonce, Madonna No theatrics and polish like Madonna She doesn't even have amazing visuals to make up for her short comings like Katy. If you read up on her ticketmaster reviews, so many of them say that her performances are passable at best. She really annoyed a lot of people with the Diamonds tour for turning up really late and then half assing her songs, relying too much on playback and not even trying to mouth the words in time. Apparently, she just walked about the stage aimlessly most of the time too. So many people said after that that they would never pay to see her again. I'm surprised that so many people wanted to see her in the first place. Maybe they see one promo performance she does that's really good and think a whole gig must be the same. I don't buy excuses like "she doesn't have the best voice or energy because she smokes cigarettes and weed." Plenty of artists do/have done those things (hello, Gaga?) and nail almost every performance as if they had been living clean all their lives. She's just not a natural performer, plain and simple.
