Ok. If you want it to be in hi res then why are you putting your opinion on GGD? :saladga:

No one here is going to do anything about making it hi res. They are going to argue with you on numerous things about your post.

Make a petition or something if you want it so badly..

I don't know which ones and it could just be some shaky memories like I said. It happened so many years ago. Sorry :emma:

Mess I didn't know you were a vinyl person. The vast majority of vinyl consumers actually have been convinced that it's a objectively better higher fidelity sound coming from their Crosley mess with built in amp/speakers then from their $700 phone. People like you who know their **** are in the minority. :rip: As for my assessment of the current music landscape being off the mark I know it isn't. Any industry analyst could tell you I'm not. The move to all music being completely free IS causing a backlash. I'm not saying the trendiness of high quality music or wanting a special feeling music collection is a bad thing though. I buy Japanese CDs when possible becuase I like knowing I'm getting a better product and becuase I like displaying my music collection also. You completely misread my post.

I think a majority of consumers who buy vinyl aren't really searching for high-definition though. I have a friend who buys everything she listens to on vinyl because it sounds "better" to her (she's referring to warmth) and she enjoys it... but she doesn't know a single thing about high definition music etc. She just likes putting a vinyl on, turning the lights down low, having a smoke and starts painting. She also owns a lot of vinyl that you can't download online, stuff I wish she had the know how to rip herself because it's not available anywhere but vinyl.

Oh, I agree there's a backlash of music becoming free but I don't see how that's related to wanting better quality music or wanting to physically own music?

The backlash is taking the form of consumers going out of their way to buy physical or buy hi res or something similar.  Look no further then vinyl/cd/cassette/hi-res digital sales year over year and it's correleation to the rise of youtube/spotify

I actually do marketing/PR for a hi-res audio service (it's a direct competitor to HD Tracks) and definitely agree with your way of thinking.

We need HIGH QUALITY. 24 bit FLAC files please.

I don't think general vinyl consumers are purposely buying them in protest of streaming though. I didn't get into vinyl until I went through my mum's old vinyl and it made me appreciate them so I started buying my favourites. I've always bought CDs even though it was "easier" to just download them on Piratebay.

You could argue that music slowly becoming legally "free" has made some people appreciate it more again, who knows?

I personally don't think this argument however makes hi-res audio any less important or make those that want it change their minds. As you've pointed out, there's a demand for it and vinyl now more than ever since streaming first started so Gaga should meet current demands.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Backlash doesn't always mean a concious meltdown. It just means that consumers aren't all happy with the direction of the products they buy and instead chose to do something else with their money.

However once again I still don't think Lady GaGa cares about hi res nor should she have to. A great song is great regardless of the technology behind it and a lot of these demands come off as petulant gearheads whining about not seeing a higher number on their setup. Personally I think that if LG needed to improve any part of her musical process it would be the mixing. So much detail is lost and so much of her last two albums has felt like nondescript noise becuase everything's just been turned up to 11 without any thought. This is especially a problem on DJWS songs, leading me to believe that he's mixing it all himself and that GaGa/DJWS didn't even bother to hire a professional :emma: Which is the ultimate demonstration of how little she cares about how the finished product sounds beyond the ideas that went into it and her vocals being on point

I literally have no idea why ARTPOP was mastered so poorly, it does against everything she said prior to it's release but it could easily be remastered and I'm sure it will be eventually.

ARTPOP's mixing and mastering is so atrocious that it makes even the good songs very hard for me to revisit. When you've listened to a wide range of high-quality music your ears are too well trained to listen to such crappy engineering, it's like trying to eat McDonalds after years of eating healthy. I look forward to the day that her discog is remastered, especially for BTW.

Gaga writes much of her music on her phone & laptop, which aren't exactly the highest quality recording devices. I agree that DJWS is a piece of **** at his job, but tbh most people are not going to notice the difference. Gaga's music so far (other than CTC) has been released to jam to in the car or at the club, not really to sit and study every detail. Until she releases music that is conducive to that type of listening, I don't see a market for her to spend time mastering her album to perfection. I don't think she's the type to sit around and care whether her music is as HQ as possible, as much of it is somewhat experimental.

I mean, her last album had it, so maybe it's a new standard. It's 2016, I think the fact she's working with giant tech companies like Intel is a good thing.

Intel unfortunately isn't related to the music business :noparty:

Spoiler

I wish they were though because I have a close family member who is extremely high in the corporation and you know perks for a position towards the top are crazy :air:
