Let's also not pull the "she won by the opinions of professionals" when the golden globes and oscars have given awards to shitty actors before. It is no different than the "professionals" on the Grammy panel. Aside from all of that if the award makes Gaga more confident and happy then that's good for her. For her first acting role she did fantastic and it was a make it or break it moment taking on a role like this. Kristen is already established and is a great actress, but seeing her in Fargo isn't as surprising as seeing Gaga in an acting role on AHS. If it did, Fargo would've won Best Miniseries or TV film which both it and AHS lost to Wolf Hall. I think what the academy may have look at was this was her first role and did well it in vs. a seasoned actress in a seasoned role. Based on that comparison, one is more impressive than the other. I'll admit that there may have been a few scenes that were not perfect (and some a little wooden) but as the season kept going, she improved immensely and now you can tell that she IS the Countess and not PLAYING the Countess. She made the role hers, it was believable and it was amazingly done. I am confident that with the amount of effort she put into her role that she deserved EVERY SINGLE OUNCE OF THAT GOLDEN GLOBE and then some. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.
