I hate that Gaga isn't taken seriously by some (still) ...

It makes me really angry and sad and just sick. David Bowie was eccentric and provocative too, but nobody seemed to complain about him - they saw his legendary potential? Ist it because when a woman is outgoing and pushing boundaries it is viewed differently? So many people on my Facebook timeline (that I personally know) mocked her Golden Globe win or when I wrote how influenced Gaga is by Bowie one wrote "it's a mockery even comparing her to him" (I didn't compare, I just stated how much he meant to her, but they haven't understood that) etc. etc. - it seems to me some people will never "get" it... Like I post links where she sings live to proof that how amazingly talented she is for example and they don't want to even click on it. "Before I listen to Gaga, I would rather cut my ears off" some girl wrote to me. Uggghhh ... It makes me feel down. Like no matter what she does and how many awards she wins etc. - there will always be those people who don't even want to question their own prejudice and this just makes me sooo raging. Because I know some of those ignorants would LOVE her if they just clicked one of the videos I posted them tbh

Who cares? Haters will always hate, no matter what. No need to waste time or energy on them. :gaycat:

I'm pretty sure David had his own share of haters but without platforms like Twitter/Facebook during his era, the haters' hatred isn't as noticeable as it is in Gaga's case.

Well, these people will always there trying to get the best of you, us.

Bowie is great, but so does Gaga.

Both of them have haters too of course, those are part of the life, I am afraid.

David Bowie received a lot of backlash when he was at his peak. Every eccentric and daring artist who manages to captivate a wide audience does. It's different now, because people love to glorify the past. As Gaga has said plenty of times: "You'll appreciate me twenty years from now"

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

Its not because shes a woman, its because shes a pop star and its hard for the majority of people to see through that as people only want to enjoy music instead of experiencing the art behind it.. David Bowie was not seen as a legend at that time and he got even more backlash than gaga did! even Gaga herself said that she learned how to respond by watching his interviews.

Perhaps as a consolation, Bowie received the same backlash and possibly worse during his time. Maybe in time people will start to realise her true potential. I'd say she still has quite a long way to go to cement herself as an artist of our generation, but id still say she has a fairly good shot.

Gaga is a very polarizing figure. Its nothing new. Being a Gaga fan is tough sometimes  because of all the hate, but just don't pay them any mind. Comes with the territory.

It's science, bitch

Just ignore Twitter of Internet trolls in general... They are a minority ;)

You can't be liked by everyone ^^ Just ignore ! Gaga slayed in 2015 and yesterday night especially ! She won a f*cking Golden Globes !!! and she feels so great with her new friends from AHS and they are all respecting her for her talent and who she is ! Just think about it :)

It's not because she's a woman, it's because she used sex appeal in her early carreer so much.

Like, if you want to be taken seriously by people, don't get naked...it's not that complicated. Dress your part.

I bet most of those same people only know two David Bowie songs. People like to talk out of their anûs.

I just ignore it this point. Between the electricity of Born This Way, the effervescence of ARTPOP, the unbridled vocal power of Cheek to Cheek and all of these breathtaking tribute performances, and now her award-winning acting performance, there is no question that Gaga has cemented her as one of the most talented, multifaceted artists of her generation. The accolades she has received by her peers, by the legends of music/film/art/fashion, and now by multiple industries, is more than enough validation for me.

The media and the haters can suck it, honestly. Gaga knows who she is, what she wants out of her career, and that is more than I can say for most of the people who shït-talk her daily.
