'Be Our Guest' Season Finale discussion

that finale wasn't really all that great, it just didn't satisfy me, kinda disappointed with the direction the season headed in halfway through. they could have done so much more with some of the characters.

Asylum > Murder House > Hotel > Freakshow > Coven

I'll admit, I was pretty surprised to see so many negative comments about this season and the finale since I really enjoyed both. I've been watching AHS since season one, and while I don't think this season was the best out of all five -- I still think Asylum was the most well-written, and for me, personally, Coven was the most enjoyable, even though a lot of people on here have equated it to a dried up turd on the sidewalk -- I still found it quite entertaining. Yes, there were a few flaws, and I took issues with a few aspects, but they weren't momentous enough to make me dislike this season (unlike Freak Show, which is the only season I have no real desire to re-watch). I guess it's just a matter of personal tastes and preferences.

I really loved this season..

This whole show is just so weird in a way.. I can see why a person can be disappointed if they watched it with the same state of mind as if they were watching, let say, Game Of Thrones or something.

It's a little bit more abstract then that, a little bit more rule bending in it's writing and especially in it's humor.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Gaga showed she could act towards the second half of the season but overall the show was a let down and didn't create any feeling of being hooked for me tbh , i could have easily gone without watching 4 - 6 episodes as not much happened throughout the show

same feeling

I actually enjoyed the finale.

Season had great visuals, but the story was a mess. Probably the weakest so far (along with 'Freakshow').

Bit of a blah finale for such a good season. It has some good moments and I loved the very end with the Countess, plus it was fun to see the psychic again, the Devil's night scene with her did have me on edge. But apart from that it felt very cheesy and a bit unnecessary. I felt like it could have had an amazing twist, something about the Hotel being purgatory, or (as @Tommy Monster posted on the previous page) tying in Sally with Mrs Evers and her missing son - that would have been genius! I guess I feel lack it was lacking, it felt both too obviously an attempt to wrap everything up and also not very final or conclusive.

Once again the season had it's highs and lows, the show always falls victim to the same problems so I hope next year they have a really water tight storyline that is played out perfectly, they are certainly capable of it. Having said that, I really did enjoy this season, it had some really incredible scenes and I love how ambitious they are every year. It was beautifully shot and beautifully acted (as always) and had some fantastic story lines.

I think that come next season they could really shake it up and reinvent themselves, to make the show feel as fresh as it did in Season 1 and 2. I love this idea of an Area 51 theme, it could deal with aliens, human experimentation, technology and insanity, all set against a beautiful but desolate landscape and baking heat. I just love the idea of the characters being isolated in some far off, desert-like location, trapped from the world and it being really hot and spooky. They could have government officials, scientists, lost travellers and hillbillies (forgive me if that's an offensive term, I couldn't think of another word) who live in the surrounding areas and then some big conspiracy/twist, plus of course there would be murder along the way. I would love them to do something more psychological, more of a thriller, rather than supernatural or really bloody. And I would love a set up like Season 2 where they flicked between two story lines in different eras, as opposed to flitting between many story lines in many different eras.

Whatever happens next season the show always has memorable moments, even in weaker years, and it's one of my favourites to watch. Congratulations to Gaga on her first season, she did a stand up job and I would love to see her back again next year, especially in a completely different role.

my thoughts exactly. Alot of pointless story's and characters. Gagas acting def improved as it went on but the writeing did not

this. I think people should watch it with the right state of mind... My sister constantly complains about how it's such a weird series, and doesn't make sense at all, but she's not the kind to watch these 'experimental' series... She's like a TVD and PLL fan, so yeah...

Ooh you just made me realise that I never once thought about looking for hints for next season (although they do make it tricky) but I like this idea! Something more futuristic and technological would be really cool to see. They've never gone in to the future in AHS (if I'm remembering correctly) apart from in this finale episode, so maybe that's another hint?

Acknowledge this is not Gaga's fault or anything, I've never seen AHS before, but I think the writers did a very poorly writing. I honestly have no interest in watching past seasons.

Nevertheless, Gaga was the best thing of this show and I will watch the next season if she is in it, just for her.

The whole season I've been thinking about something very futuristic... Like a kind of prison, only white colors,...that would be so cool!

However... my 'other' theory begs to differ: Murder House = real time, Asylum = Past, Coven = Real time, Freak show = past, Hotel = real time, ==== AHS 6 = past?

Everything said, I do think this season improved on a lot of Coven's and Freak Show's flaws.

3 points in and ready for more
