I guess it's a pain to have to go out and get new cords because of your old ones becoming obsolete. However, if you're going to spend $200+ on a new phone, I think you could afford a cheap aux cord. That's just the way I see it.

If you can afford an expensive phone, then you can afford an aux cord and headphones. It's hilarious sometimes. However, some people do not want to spend any more money because they already spent a chunk on a phone - though they shouldn't buy things they can't afford in the first place. Since I'm with T-Mobile, I have to pay full price for my phone (in the span of 2 years or earlier) so I'm not too worried about spending too much money on a phone and accessories in one purchase/short time period. Problem is, some people are not very trustful with cheap products. That is how some iPhones blew up, cos they were charging it with knock off charger. If I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on a phone, I'd want the best accessories (at a reasonable price and functionality) for it. This may seem sad or weird or whatever you want to call it, but you have to treat expensive products (or anything you deem valuable) like a baby, well most people already do . True, true, always use the genuine products. Unless the third party are made with best quality ofc! There are even smartphones insurance these days. We're all consumers and it should be Apple pulling stuff out of its ass to please us and persuade us into buying their stuff...but it won't happen as long as all these insecure people feel forced to buy apple **** because they think of it as a symbol of status...if people were more willing to try other brands and think of the actual product they're getting, instead of "oh, people will think I'm so cool with this new iPhone", Apple would even consider getting rid of regular headphones jacks... So, yes, it's also on you (on us, actually...I was a total Apple fanboy for a while)... This so much!! I see this trend with Black Friday shopping as well. When people asked me what I worked on BF, they were appalled that I had to go in on Thanksgiving at 6 pm. I don't blame the company, if there wasn't a demand for it, they would close and open at midnight but the consumer wants to be there. It's amazing to me that people are willing to complain to make themselves look good but will indulge themselves in what they are complaining about. The people who were complaining that we would be opening on Thursday were the same ones who came in and spent 300+ dollars on clothes. Your dollar determines a company's ventures! So spend carefully and don't buy what you don't want. Currently listening to Joanne

But it would come in handy when sh*t happens. Like when my phone slipped out of my pocket while I was playing with my little cousins and had to pay the full price for a screen replacement. KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
Headphones last 3 months for me. If I had to by new headphones for 60 dollars every time + the expensive prize of the phone itself... MESS. I'm never getting a phone from Apple. 100$ for a TPU with a messy battery? That's sick. bye consumists! ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

JusKeepBreathin 19,311
It kinda makes no sense especially now that they own Beats. I don't agree with the charger situation. If it charges more effectively then it should be changed. But to further isolate Apple from customers who like purchasing cheaper headphones is crazy. I do a lot of training and jogging. I can't buy expensive headphone for training. I did once they lasted me a total of 3 months. The same as the cheap ones. Now I have expensive ones for regular use and cheap ones for training. Benji 20,113
I don't really get why people are freaking out over this at all. You'll be able to buy an adaptor cheaply or one will come with the device (phones like the old Sony Ericsson's did) that allows you to plug the standard headphones in. The headphone jack serves no purpose if you can move the function to another port.
