Trump rallies in Vermont and abuses his welcome

So, I live in Vermont, and wanted to attend Trump's rally in Burlington, Bernie's city. I wanted to go not to support him, but to participate in a democratic process by letting him have a platform and be willing to listen, no matter how angry it made me. I was waiting in line from about 4pm, and once I got to the front, I heard Trump's men asking the people at the door whether they were voting for Trump or not. Those who answered no or weren't sure were told to leave. Having heard this, I lied and said I was voting for him. Once the event started at 7:30, we got the usual Trump talk that was composed of 80% whining and 20% politics. He was interrupted about 3 times (although apparently more times after I left) by protesters in the venue, which he had forcibly removed. The last straw for me was when he had a group removed and yelled at hi security to confiscate their coats. He literally stole their clothes, and it was 10 degree Fahrenheit outside. I left shortly after in disgust.

Outside, there were about 700 people peacefully protesting. 

What pisses me off about this is that he advertised it as a public event, and gave out 20,000 free tickets. To put into perspective how ridiculous that is, The Flynn Theater can only hold about 1.5k people. He's claiming on twitter that 25,000 showed up, but that's simply not true. I talked to the police and they told me they had estimated about 2,000 people lined up to get into the event, and many of them were not supporters. Yet, people on twitter on believing his lies. He tweeted a picture of protesters and said they were a crowd of people waiting to get in lmfao.

I think its great that you understand that the real issue here is an impediment to democracy and the creation of an insular voice. Our leaders should trust their ideas enough to welcome dialogue, not seek to create a controlled void.

I'm lucky to not live in this sort of area so I've never witnessed this type of bigotry/ racism that you encounter they make us look awful but in reality we are pretty awful bc I know so many of them exist

Honestly I'm not surprised. Thank you for sharing this. Interesting to see an inside scoop on his events.

Don't worry. The Iowa caucus will speak for itself. That's when we'll see how many supporters he actually has. All he does right now is flaunt his polls but we'll see the truth February 1.

You should contact i report and the news sources to report this. Someone has to bring him down he is a horrible person to everyone. He insults his own Americans and 90% of the population. I can't believe he has made it until January at the top of the polls. That is scary. I love Vermont btw-i'm originally from up North too-Maine:)
