I don't think Katy is releasing something soon and Taylor will be having a 2 year break. I don't think Rihanna will have a hit with R8 6.0, they just want to finish that album and try to create something "artistic" so fans don't destroy her. I wouldn't fear Adele, her album is already out and I only would worry about that #1 spot in Billboard 200. Justin's and Selena's eras are about to end. Who knows tho? There's always something new every year and maybe another Kesha, Carly Rae Jepsen or Lorde might show up. But I think with a killer lead single and the acclaim she's received over the last year, Gaga has never had it so easy. Seems like a good time to release sth since there's no other pop diva out there. Why did you mention Selena?) Sorry, but it looks funny comparing Gaga to Selena, especially next to Bieber whose era is really huge
Warholian 6,880
Her plastic surgeon. Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?
juicyjuicy 1,985
I'm sorry but...pretty much every pop girl is releasing their album this year. Britney? Ariana? Beyonce? Rihanna? Katy Perry? Even potentially Miley? 2013 says hi.
Ferrer Zorola 3,966
1. Katy Perry (I'm not sure though, she's probably going to release it many months after) 2. Adele (not many are going to buy her new singles since every person in the world has 25 now) 3. Beyoncé (she was never real competition, "Beyoncé" sold well because of how innovative it was) 4. Taylor Swift (least probable since she's taking a break) LIFE IS GOOD

Harry 26,836
There's really no use in saying she will have little competition because the reality is that there is virtually always competition, that's just the nature of the business. Just because a lot of the big stars already have albums out the way it doesn't mean someone else will come in, and Adele will no doubt continue to sell well this year. As far as singles go, that's even more unpredictable. At the top of any respective year I doubt any of us could've predicted the massive hits in recent years by people like Carly Rae Jepsen, Lorde, Robin Thicke, Mark Ronson, Meghan Trainor and even The Weeknd last year. There's always something/someone that breaks out. I thought we'd have learnt by now to not have astronomical expectations.
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
After looking at that list, i don't think there's much competition. The ones I would say maybe to (katy and taylor) won't be releasing until at least late in the year. Gotta be honest, Adele's "25" era seems to be fading away. People are sick of "Hello" and "When We Were Young" is not charting well. Girl was on every TV show for 2 weeks and then she disappeared. But we know she's not big on singles. She just cares about the album. As a Gaga fan, I'm not complaining.
deeman 189
Vote Adele. Katy is no competition for Gaga.

But yeah, there always may be a competition

She just cares about the album. As a Gaga fan, I'm not complaining. This is v delusional. She just sold around 300k in a week that was considered a major drop for her. That's amazing lol. More than many pop girls' last first weeks, including Gaga. In the US didn't she only go on 3 shows (Today, Fallon, SNL) and then have her special? That's far from 'every TV show'. The fact that those promo spots happened all at once and it's still doing numbers like this in January which is typically a slow month for sales says the complete opposite of 'fading away'. Plus Hello is still #1 on radio by a big margin and holding up at #2 on iTunes. WWWY hasn't even been officially released yet and it's doing fine. #25 on iTunes when it only just made Top 40 on radio - no video or endless performances to push it yet, not to mention it's not even on Spotify. Honestly, that's fading away? Gaga (or any other star right now) would be very lucky to do half as well as Adele's currently doing. I feel like only on this site people would try and devalue that kind of success
Arizona Sky 10,913
Hmm well let's take a look at when they're most likely releases albums: Iggy: Spring Adele: N/A Rihanna: Who TF knows at this point Beyonce: Unknkown (but may be soon since she was recently filming an MV) Katy Perry: October Taylor: 2017 Lorde: Unknown Britney Spears: Spring Kanye West: Spring Drake: Spring Gaga: May If she releases in May, it doesn't look like she has too much competition tbh. She needs to avoid releasing Q1, Q3 & ESPECIALLY Q4. Q2 is best. By then, Adele will be declining & no other artist will be a threat. I'm going to say it right now but Bobby & Gaga should be planning the release date ahead of time cause they need to watch out for other artists or else it's gonna be a disaster.
