Guest
Yeah. If you stop liking her just because she doesn't have the commercial success she used to have, you're an idiot.
Bellatrix 34,790
I don't give a F about commercial success. As long as the album is good, I'll be here. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

LETHALARTPOP 0
For me, as much as I love her music, I love her for more than the music, album sales, charts, and awards. Her album debut it to #99 on the Billboard charts and I would love her just as much as I would if it debuted at #1. Also, she is such an amazing person that even if she dropped the album and it was complete and utter trash, I would still support her because she is such an inspiration and a role model. She is a huge gay rights activist, she is an anti-bullying activist, she is a feminist, etc. She is way more than just a musician, which is why I couldn't care less how big her music impact is. Sure I will be incredibly proud of her if she breaks records and tops the charts, but I don't stan her BECAUSE of that.
judxs 762
I just want new music, at this point she could record a soundtrack of her snoring and I'd probably play it non stop for the next year.
Born Brave 2,072
Flop is such a subjective word. Look, Gaga doesn't flop. She has already climbed the mountain of "who is she" and put a big flag down at the peak. If you live on the planet earth, you've heard her name at least once. The same can't be said for like 97 percent of the other artists, and I'm including Indie Artists, independent writers, and artists that are in a less popular market.. Most of those bands / artists would kill for the "flop" that most of the people on this forum repulse. ARTPOP had songs that made the top 15- Applause held onto the top 10 for months and got the most airplay of any Gaga single to ever have been released. AND the album scored #1 on Billboard with it's release. Do ya'll ever stop and think about the other artists that put their heart and soul into their album that was released the same week as ARTPOP? Im sure that some of those albums were just as good or better than AP but they didn't have the name Gaga so they got lost in the shuffle. This also works both ways. We know that Gaga's music is great, genuine, and deserves to be successful right? She writes her own songs, co-produces, and sings live with no lip syncing or autotune. That's why we get so heated and ticked off when some lesser talent has more "commercial" success. It burns us up, it burns Gaga up, and critics just shrug and write their little 2 cents worth of reviews- in the end it doesn't really matter because the name "Lady Gaga" sparks interests among people and they recognize that she is a popular artist. She is ultimately flop proof- but she may not sell a million copies in her first week on LG5 which takes us to my next point. Another thing is that I think people try to expect Gaga to pull Taylor Swift or Adele numbers- it just isn't always going to compute the way that monsters want. Gaga doesn't have a bunch of preteen girls in her corner like Taylor does and Adele is just an amazing artist who writes damn good songs that people that can relate to. 50 year olds can buy an Adele album and not be ashamed of the cover art, the context of the song lyrics, and so forth which basically translates to an unlimited demographic. This allows Taylor and Adele, and One Direction and Justin Bieber to pull some gawdy first week sales numbers. It doesn't matter about the quality of the music, it matters who has what in terms of target market and demographic. Commercial success is overrated. The thing is that Gaga will do just fine and I'll just be glad to get a new album. I started listening to Gaga before this site even existed, before she was a household name and honestly I liked it a lot more back then because she was like a well kept secret. She was impervious to the scrutiny of "experts" and commercialism. I was active on the OLD ancient LadyGaga.com message board and dealt with the infamous FlopGa who spammed the boards to the point of them being deactivated. Then I joined this site in 2011 and really found a home here. In 2013 I got to be a part of a little radio podcast youtube show thingy called Radio ARTPOP which kind of was my magnum opus of fan experiences because it got me so close to Gaga herself and I met so many amazing people as a result. My short answer? The only way I stop listening to Gaga is if she stops making music.

BeautyisaLie 1,272
For me it's not just the artist to follow, it's the person, and I could never leave her. Maybe some eras I'll be more or less active, but my love for her is forever for many, many reasons. 🎼 It's dark but just a game. 🖤🎧

hELXIG 42,966
She will always, always have a place deep in my heart. If the music is somehow something that I really don't enjoy, after trying and trying to, then I'll be slightly disappointed. But I'll just remember that this is the way things go sometimes, artists change and so does their content. I just hold out hope that we grow and change together and not apart over time. I'll always love her though. But all of that said, I really don't see her disappointing me. It'd have to be something very different for me to not enjoy it at all. And she would have to change drastically as a person for me to stop paying her attention. (EDIT: Ew I sound like such a creepy stalker. But everything I said is true. I'm not creepy though I promise ) I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
