I also usually like the follow up more than the big money making one and the media usually calls it a good attempt but not as great as their grand introduction album. An example would be Nirvana Nevermind and Nirvana In Utero and Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. Also Lady Gaga The Fame and The Fame Monster.
