She won't ever see any big mainstream success, but she might be able to land a top topic thread on GGD the next time she gets locked up.

That's..success of a kind.:flutter:

I know she's ruining her Career but idk bout her carrier ;) Jk

But, Azealia is just digging her grave! I wish she could just let her music speak for itself! I will support her music but not her attitude though

If she wants to be a superstar then yes but it's quite clear that she's not after Top 40 fame. She still earns plenty of money with her own model so it really doesn't seem like she's that bothered tbh.

Even if she had a good attitude she wouldn't achieve any crossover success cos of the kind of music she makes, but I feel like she could be big with rap audiences. She's clearly just difficult to work with and doesn't like dealing with industry people, so she won't be getting that kind of support anytime soon. But like I say, I don't think she wants it.

So essentially I don't think she has ruined it because she's still going about her career in the way she wants to, but if you talk to people that think a hit radio single is the only form of success, the answer is yes.

I don't think she has ruined her career, but she's definitely wasting a good opportunity of having her talent recognized, making money, getting her name out there...she's throwing a good moment in the garbage...

I mean, she's very talented, but her capacity as rapper has been overshadowed by her nonsense for too long and eventually this moment of openness to her and her work will go away (it always does, no matter how good of an act you are, that's why pop artists have to reinvent themselves over and over!) and all she'll have to show for it are a couple of TMZ headlines, which is sad, because she has so much potential...

All I have to say is: a bad attitude IS NOT authenticity...it's just a bad attitude. You don't need to behave like a toddler to make a point or to fight any fight...Stevie wonder is a black, blind man, considered a legend, whose authenticity no one would dare question, that has fought for equality for years and did so while keeping his cool and being an example to everyone in this industry...so...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Its a fairly Obvious yes. She has been given so many opportunity she has the talent and she had the support in the beginning to be big but every single time she destroyed herself. Idk how she even sleeps at night knowing all the things shes ruined for her self. I would seriously be a wreck if I self sabotaged myself like that.

If anything, her reputation was ruined. A lot of people liked her but then over the years, she started to be opinionated about a LOT of things. People didn't like that so they stopped liking her as a person. Her career is rising though. she's has her first role as an actress in a big upcoming hip-opera film and 2 new albums coming next year along with an EP.

I don't think you can really "ruin" your music career... People will listen to anything if they like it... There are artists with far more troubled pasts that still reach top 10... An occasional woman beater comes to mind... She can still make it if she reinvents her persona, like many artists like to do nowadays... She can make it (even though she's a woman and the public is a lot harder on women).

You can actually ruin your carrer, Natalia Kills was very popular in NZ and at this point she's basically gone

Okay I don't see really why she couldn't get Top 40 hits, I mean Chasing Time, Luxury and Gimme A Chance could easily get into Top 20

Just look at WTF by Missy Elliot, it kinda sounds like something Azealia Banks would sing

"easily" lol. Hits aren't easy and effortless.

It's about more than just having a good song. You have to have radio backing, marketing, promo spots etc and most of these things don't come along without a (usually major) label. It's incredibly rare that a song becomes a hit without these platforms - unless it goes viral - and Azealia doesn't have/want a label or the industry support that would give her access to those platforms. In fact I'm pretty sure her singles aren't even sent to radio, with the possible exception of 212 as it got quite a lot of radio play in Europe.

And the fact she doesn't want a label behind her is her attitude issue imo..

I don't think that's anything to do with her attitude. Plenty of artists opt to release music without labels, or at least with indie labels. She's not obliged to sign a deal just because she makes music, that's ridiculous. There's plenty you could say is wrong with her attitude but that is not one.
