Is The Fame/The Fame Monster underrated by fans these days?

I think TFM is her best album. Part of it is because it's only 8 tracks, but it's much more coherent than BTW. Literally all tracks all solid, BTW had some duds. It would be more fair to compare if the album had 15 tracks, but I think its her best album. I guess people like BTW better because they can relate to it more.

The Fame Monster?

Underrated?

In my opinion, it is one of her best albums, and I barely ever see fans criticising it

It depends who you ask. The fans of 2008-2009, the monsters of 2009-2010 definitely had a different experience with Gaga's work than the fans of 2011-2012 and the fans of 2013-2015.

Do your own research.

I wouldn't say TFM is hated on here but rather under appreciated. TFM literally allowed Gaga to channel her personality through costumes, touring, etc. which not only allowed her to meet fans and play her music, but it also helped shape her visionary concept behind BTW. Plus, TFM had zero filler IMO.

TF on the other hand is disliked or at least ignored on a merit level by 75% of the people on here.

TFM is my favorite album tbh and is one of her best (and considered to be).

It's just that compared to the fans who are still here with her, they much prefer BTW. Although, AP and BTW divided the fans from the ones who were during the TFM era. People in my school don't even know what an ARTPOP is and they only heard the singles off of BTW.

(TFM is such a bop to all of them though and they love it)

Not sure about fans but the critics have been LICKING The Fame's ass to the heavens. I mean go read The Fame's Wikipedia page and how they describe the album...

I love them but they served their purpose and should not be reupped for lg5. Move forward not backwards. Gaga is not Kelly Clarkson.

You know, I think I spend no time at all thinking about it.  I like what I like and analyzing it and wondering what others think would take all the joy out of it.  I do think it's interesting that it's been quite a while since her early music came out, and it's almost becoming "nostalgic."

REALITY

It's certainly not underrated by fans at all. What people have been basically arguing about—for lack of a better word—is whether or not LG5 should have a more Fame/Fame Monster approach, or a Born This Way/ARTPOP approach.

Personally, I'd rather have a Born This Way/ARTPOP approach because it's something new, and innovative in the music industry. I absolutely loved Gaga during her Fame/Fame Monster eras, but it doesn't make sense to revamp that era all over again. She's not stuck in 2008-2009 anymore. She's evolved and grown as an artist, and I believe her last 3—I'm including her Cheek to Cheek era here—have shown what she can really do.

Born This Way and ARTPOP provided strong messages about love, acceptance, creativity, and freedom, which are all very relatable, but with Fame/Fame Monster all overall message was just "fame", which wasn't necessarily a thing many of us could relate to, which is why I prefer her latter two albums.

I see a lot of praise for TFM, most people say it's their favourite Gaga album so no, I don't think it's underrated. And for The Fame.. people don't hate it. Most people just think her other albums are better and I agree.
