Melech 9,900
"A Palestinian terrorist sped with his car into a group of Israelis at a bus stop near the western entrance to Jerusalem mid-afternoon on Monday. He wounded 11 people, including a 15-month-old toddler, who lost his leg as a result. The baby was rushed to a Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where surgeons operated on him for several hours. Attempts to prevent amputation were unsuccessful. He was the most seriously wounded in the attack. The family are immigrants from France. Five other victims remain in Shaare Zedek hospital, including a woman in the intensive care unit. The terrorist, later identified as 24-year-old Abd al-Muhsam Hasuna of the Palestinian neighborhood of Beit Hanina, was shot and killed at the scene. Didymus 34,380
Some more info: - "Officers and security personnel patrolling the area responded immediately and neutralized the terrorist as he attempted to exit the car with an ax, killing him" - "Of the 11 injuries, one victim is a 68-year-old woman, and another is an infant. Both are in moderate condition; the nine others are in light condition" - "Since the Palestinian terror wave hit the capital and West Bank in the beginning of October, 19 Israelis and a US citizen have been killed by gunfire or knife attacks, while over 100 Palestinians have been killed for carrying out attacks or rioting." What bugs me is that the Israeli/Jewish sources use distorted results of the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research though in connection with these attacks. But of course it's very sad for the baby. Glad the others got off pretty much spotless.
Didymus 34,380
Maybe a discussion topic: why are all these Palestinians killed on the spot? Surely Israeli teams are adept enough to wound them so they're not a threat anymore. I don't understand it. Killing them only makes them look like martyrs, possibly inspiring new violence. Or is that the point maybe?

In this case that was totally unnecessary though. I don't know, it's fishy to me. It's not like these people are running around with a suicide belt. So far I haven't seen one case where it was necessary to resort to killing.

Well, if they are a threat to other people, I guess every police/security/soldier would do that  Though it would be more interesting to caught them and get information out of them in my opinion

I'd prefer the use of tasers etc. though, especially when there's no firearm involved. Because, like I said, the fact that these criminals can become inspiring martyrs is bad news.. Israeli leaders have called on security forces to shoot suspected attackers on the spot, while others have urged civilians to take up arms since the latest bout of violence. In October, Yair Lapid, an Israeli legislator from the centre-right Yesh Atid party, said Palestinians suspected of attacking Israeli soldiers or civilians "should be shot to be killed". Gilad Erdan, Israel's security minister, said suspected attackers should be killed so that potential assailants "know that they will not survive the attack that they were going to carry out". In Jerusalem, the Israeli police commander in the city, Moshe Edri, said alleged attackers are "likely to be killed". http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/11/israelis-support-extrajudicial-killingspolls-151108123738192.html also interesting "Some 53 percent of Israelis have expressed support for the extrajudicial killings of alleged Palestinian attackers on the spot, even after their arrest and when they "no longer pose a threat", according to a new poll" "It also found that 80 percent of Israeli interviewees believe that the family homes of alleged Palestinian attackers should be demolished." http://en.idi.org.il/about-idi/news-and-updates/latest-peace-index-israelis-are-tense-but-not-hysterical/ OT Sad for the baby, attacking civilians is never justified. Hopefully families of other dead and mutilated babies/children/civilians get to see the justice one day despite they're second class citizens. Their killers are usually walking free. Surely they know that this will only serve to attract people who see dying for their cause as an honor. Also: who would honestly expect to survive anyway 2 minutes ago, SubRosa said: "Some 53 percent of Israelis have expressed support for the extrajudicial killings of alleged Palestinian attackers on the spot, even after their arrest and when they "no longer pose a threat", according to a new poll" "It also found that 80 percent of Israeli interviewees believe that the family homes of alleged Palestinian attackers should be demolished." Now Those are some curious poll results. Terrible. Nice illustration of the "eye for an eye" logic keeping back a peace process. And it's sad that both Israel's and Palestine's leaders are actually better off when this is kept intact.

For Israel a peace process is most obviously a disaster and I don't believe that Palestinian ruling powers would be happy with a compromise either. I don't even know if a political party that would actively try to compromise would be able to keep hold of local popularity for a considerable time.
