This is a dark song with a dark meaning behind it, and I completely understand if her voice shakes or cracks because of it. I liked the vocals in the performance because it felt so different from anything she has ever done, and it just proves that she never stops evolving or trying new things. If you didn't enjoy this performance, the next one will be completely different anyway so just appreciate that fact and the creativity/talent to achieve that. Her voice sounds different here from how we have ever heard it before. I love how emotional this performance was. Some parts were a little out of tune but overall very good performance! Gaga can get fans from all of the stuff that she does, all sides, she is versatile. She is a true singer, vocalist. I would even say that a lot of the younger kids love Gaga most when she is that social justice warrior, leading a cause through a song, they react and like her material more than when she is just doing her straight pop, older persons too, from my experience. They all seem to love Gaga most when she is speaking out loud about a cause through music and us regular fans just sit tight, but already confirm her talent to them. Apart from that lovely tribute to Loretta Lynn (I'm a sucker for older and REAL country music) and Gaga's astounding performance, the entire program was dull. Gaga's speech was wonderful and you can tell she genuinely appreciated the honor!
