Nicole 1,809
I don't really know tbh. I was 11 and pretty much establishing my "taste" in music and Just Dance was released and became popular in Aus very quickly, watched Miss Universe and as a pre-teen I was intrigued and it was also the time I started using the internet so I googled away all the time and watched every interview I could find, every performance and it just stuck. At first, it was purely about the music and probably the "out there" outfits/persona, but as I got older I think I've maintained my stance as a fan out of pure respect for her and her artistry, beyond any music she may release. LoveandMagic 1,731
I've mentioned it a few times, so this time I will give the short version: I used to hate her. I "heard" some of her early singles but really didn't pay attention to them or her. I remember my friends ripping on her a lot (except my theatre pals) because we thought she was some mindless pop star using shock value to mask limited talent. Keep in mind we didn't really listen to pop, the Gaga fans we knew were really snobby about it, and don't by gossip mags or watch stuff like E!. I basically knew her as the meat-dress chick and didn't read interviews (maybe just the "highlights" - usually the outragious stuff). At some point I was browsing the web for dance tracks and came across a remix collection that someone had made that had one Gaga remix on it (Judas Remix - Jamie Starr). I resisted listening to it for a bit but I eventually gave in because I liked the other mixes and fell in love. I thought the lyrics were very provocative for a pop star and I liked the flow and beat. I decided to check out the album version of the song, fell in love (it's still my favorite song by her even though she has better songs like MTN), checked out the album (Born This Way) and thought that it was an incredible album to come from a popular pop star considering the pop climate at that time. I then checked out the rest of her work, including MV and interviews, and slowly began browsing various fan sites and the like. Anyway, I think her body of work is great and still seems so fresh to me,( I adore TFM and BTW), and I find her MV are intriguing, stylish, and/or provocative. Most of all she seems insanely talented, capable of being versatile, genuinely artsy and theatrical, and a really caring person. I really can't wait to see what she does next in her career. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
imwoahvicky 4,248
I knew about her back in 2009 and 2010, but didn't really get into her until 2011 and the BTW era when Judas was everywhere on YouTube. ⚜ Roll Deep ⚜
Mark 4,065
I was supposed to make a status about how I became a fan, but this thread is a coincedence. My first time hearing Gaga was 2008, at the classroom, with my classmate's earphones. Idk why but her music sounded fresh and catchy, so I did some research over the net and fell in love with her. Now, I probably stan the hardest compared to my classmate that introduced me to her, bless her heart for giving me the best person. 00026 † 10000
Voltaire 4,531
1 minute ago, LebaneseDude said: Bahaha I was 18 at the time but this is word for word what I experienced. I haven't followed her daily but she's literally the only pop star I give a damn about. I have my reasons. Let's just say my life trajectory has been thematically similar to hers. In the early days, I always had a "buddy on the inside". My best friend was into following her at the very start (which was funny because he's into video games and heavy metal.) and then when TFM was about to drop, I started seeing my GF who was also obsessed with her. It sorta fed it at the early stages because I took her to 5 of Gagas shows over the course of our relationship. (I think)They slowed down on following her for the most part, I just never did. I guess I'm just consistent like that. HA. Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker
SpaceAce 1,058
Binge watching her performances on youtube sometime back in 2010. The Born This Way album turned me into a full blown stan though.

Bebe 17,094
I was interested with Just Dance, loved Poker Face, watched the mv for LoveGame and realised I was starting to become really interested in her. Paparazzi VMA performance made me stan, BR and Telephone consolidated my stanning and she has just kept me hooked ever since really.
REALITY 76,778
I've known about Gaga, but I wasn't a fan until relatively recently. I first became a fan when I watched Applause. Not only was the video itself spectacular, but the music was as well. She quite literally changed my life... sipthistea 21,099
Her Ass ... Just kidding, but I like it too. But there's something authentic about her that results attractive to me: Her limitless talent, her madness, her presence, her hard work, her intelligence, and her dedication to music. I never knew someone who loved music so much as Gaga does. And well, I guess I was right when I started following her.
