I love the DIY fashion of the early fame era. The discostick and the glasses... God damn it was awesome :flutter:

Yeah that's what's exactly missing with her clothes. They just call designers nowadays to send her pieces. I know we're not in an album era to warrant a haus creation but let's not pretend the haus' creation nowadays are as cool as they were before. Yes, I just used the word cool. Gaga needs it actually and a bit of street cred.

It was February 2011 when she completely changed everything. The moment BTW cam out It didn't have any trademark Gaga stuff. The moment she emerged from the vessel at the Grammys her I noticed something's missing with her performance. I don't know. It seems like things were more polished and choreographed. I was expecting so much theatrics and all we got was a straight performance sans the piano parts. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but I missed those times when Gaga would wear cheap weaves and improvise due to budget constrainst. She became this untouchable creature with all the high polished, overly-planned things that sometimes lack soul into it.

My taste in music has changed so much with Gaga. I'm glad her music is constantly undergoing a process of evolution and reinvention. It's hard to judge her as a die-hard fan, because I analyze and listen to everything she does so often, that it's ultimately bound to get boring...and when it does, everything that remains is the acclaim and what the public thought about it, because I myself can't be an honest judge, because the magic is obviously gone after such scrutiny. When I think of The Fame, I think of how powerful she was in terms of popularity. When I think of The Fame Monster, I think of how she was capable of shocking the world and keeping everyone interested. But I always try to remember how it felt at the time, not what everyone else thought about it, but my own personal reaction, because that's the only fair comparison.

If I would stan this hard for any other artist, I'd end up hating them, because I put everything Gaga does under a microscope and yet she has managed to keep me entertained for more than 6 years. She's not the kind of artist that will attract the masses anymore, that was FameGa and I loved how she used that platform to keep a core group interestet for so long, by being the true chameleon she has proven to be. Would any of you have guessed that FameGa would ever release an album of Jazz standards with none other than Tony Bennett? That she would ever be an actress on a popular tv series? That's the magic of Lady Gaga and that's the only reason I'm still here.

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

FameGa era was the first time I met her at the Airport in Singapore, I was just a curious guy, not a fan (I instantly became a fan after attended The Fame Ball). I regret that I didn't fight harder to take picture with her. It was easy to reach her, because only less than 20 fans are waiting for her. Now, it's even harder to met her and take pic with her. "FameGa"once said in an interview that she had nothing to say about politics and just wanted to party.   She came across as a bit of an airhead during her early fame days.  You can't tell me that was the "natural" and "honest"  Gaga, we all know better.  I'm so glad that version of Gaga is long gone.   Good riddance.

:applause:  This right here!  Babe, I couldn't agree with you more.  While I love ALL of Gaga's albums, I happen to believe Born This Way and ARTPOP are better than The Fame and possibly even The Fame Monster.

It's natural to hold onto an era that provided Gaga so much notoriety and success but, as an artist, it's imperative that she evolves or she would bore the f*ck out of everybody if she became a one-trick pony with her performances, her interviews and her fashion.  There has to be change in order to remain relevant, fresh and successful.

Do I miss FameGa?  Of course!  I loved every single era Gaga delivered but I also recognize she can't be complacent and not change because that would severely hurt her career.  I am excited that Gaga is showcasing her talent more these days and I'm glad she's given us an amazing 2015.

Here's food for thought.  Do you guys honestly think we would have gotten all of the acclaim and the amazing performances we got in 2015 if all Gaga did was act, perform and sing the way she did in her FameGa era?  I don't think so.  Gaga would not be taken as seriously as she is now if she didn't evolve artistically.  That is a fact, whether some of you like it or not.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Indeed.  I get that Gaga changes too fast for some people.   Most pop stars would've milked "FameGa" to death until they were forced to change because people were tired of it.   Gaga doesn't wait that long.   She's a restless soul driven to find new challenges.   Thats what I love about her, she's an inspiration to me in that way.   I won't like everything she does, but I respect her for it.

You've just hit the nail on the head!  It's a scientific fact that people don't cope very well with change.  People are creatures of habit and Gaga changes too fast for some people.

As you've stated, most pop stars would've milked the f*ck out of FameGa, but Gaga changes faster than we can blink.  That's what I love about her!

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

THose awful bangs please NEVER again!

By the time you reach the end of this sentence, it'll be too late to realize I just wasted your time with a pointless sig.

Reading this thread is so interesting, but it just feels so weird reading about "FameGa" being gone and all that. I don't view Gaga as a different person in any of these eras, it's always been one talented woman doing what she does best. Like, if you look back on your life 6 years ago would you say that you weren't you? Of course not, but inevitably you'll have changed a lot since then, and in my case I'm glad I have.

Look at it this way - either Gaga remains static her whole career and we complain about the lack of variety. Alternatively, Gaga changes and develops her career and we get to see the full variety and spectrum of talent she offers over many years. I know which one I prefer, and thankfully it's the one we're living in!

"everything went downhill from____" Then why are you still around and complaining? You're simply projecting that belief onto her and her career which is what contributed to ARTPOP being seen as a flop by many. Sure, certain eras were "more successful and beautiful" but do you really think if she did that her whole career she would maintain that kind of fame or success? That may work with other pop girls :laughga:, for other reasons, but Gaga is a chameleon and is ever changing. I thought we left the complaining back in 2013.  Appreciate it as a part of her career and what it did for her, but don't wish for an "old" Gaga back.

Don't refer to me like that when you clearly didn't try to understand my point.

I actually think things went downhill because she stopped being a chameleon.

And I haven't complained for the last two years (years I loved), so cut that attitude.

I enjoyed this era for what it was but I don't actually miss it.

I've moved on with Gaga. I do miss her being around everywhere though, so I'd say that's what I miss from all her past eras. I'm so ready for LG5.

I actually like her personality now too. She's always been "real."

She was so REAL during the fame era. I'm sorry but this interview alone is more honest and real than most of the crap she says today

It's crazy that she was 22 year but was more level headed and didn't feel the need to patronize celebrities who don't write their own music. I personally thought she was more intelligent in her early 20s. I still love Gaga but I don't care much for her personality now I'm just looking forwards towards her next album which I hope it good because she hasn't been able to top the fame or the fame monster in my eyes.

I love this interview sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much
