I didn't have the problem. I absolutely loved the song, and the video just made it 10x better! It just got stuck in my head the in that first day.

First I heard the 2nd verse leak. I hated it tbh. And i remember someone saying that it sounds like Miley on cocaine smh. I thought it was a fake leak tbh.

Then I heard the prechorus which was like the catchiest thing ever

I remember thinking Aura was better and wishing it was the lead single. But I loved Applause too.

Tbh I was really excited when I saw the audio and it just sounded so...foreign to me, you know? Since she decided to be more experimental and stuff during the ARTPOP era. I ended up liking ARTPOP as a whole though.

Applause didn't stick on me though. I tried to force myself to like it but I eventually forgot about it like 3 days later

I knew the lyrics after one day! Haha. I will never forget hearing it on the radio for the first time. I was in the car w my aunt, and Gaga's voice came on the radio and I was like what bc they hadn't played her songs from BTW for a while. It started playing, and I told my aunt,"This is her new song!!!" I have loved it ever since.
