Well if it truely is just for AHS, I would say it's a job well done. I think the countess is meant to look somewhat Alien and timeless, so making the face look somewhat unhuman without making her look too much unlike herself (being: a young woman in the prime of her life) seems perfect when it comes to stylizing her look.

I just hope she'll let it wear off .

But she almost finished filming AHS 

 

Why didn't she do that at the begining?

Of course she had to do it whe she was supposed to look perfect and ruined the red carpet/interviews

 

Idgi , she slays and looks amazing just walking out of her house, but when she needs to look good and everyone is watching she ruins it like this ?

 

I hope it doesnt affect LG5, people are already dragging her so bad.

I know this is slightly off topic, but this is the only thread I know of that is totally focussed on her physical appearance... 

I just noticed all of a sudden tonight that she seems to be getting skinnier again. Like it suddenly hit me when I saw this pic

And I know that she purposely let herself get bigger to make a statement and because she was sick of having to be skinny. I was just so used to seeing her like the pic below that I didn't notice she was suddenly skinny again until this moment   O.o

Agreed! I always thought her nose contour in 2008 made her nose look WORSE   the lil' baby celeb was still working out makeup :P

Also just personally I hate the nude lips look. Especially against tan skin! Makes people look like they have no lips at all D;

I don't mind the work she's had done, I just think she could ease up a little on the chin and lips. They look really beautiful sometimes, but quite less flattering at other times.

You're assuming to know the reasoning behind it all, while in reality we know nothing about it .

Yes, Gaga is insecure about her looks, but that's nothing new. I'm sure that plastic surgery and such have been long time discussion points with her friends and family, as well as people who work with her (e.g.: Inez & Vinoodh). As far as we know, Gaga is in a stable and healthy psychological state right now. She knows what she wants and doesn't pressure herself into doing things she doesn't want to do (proven by C2C, AHS, her Yale speech, not rushing LG5). She has also explicitly stated that she doesn't want to be pressured to look younger all the time. If anything, she has made it a case to look older all the time throughout her career (see her C2C looks, among many others).

If anything, this time in her life is a time where she probably has the least amount of pressure from the outside to alter her looks.

If I had to, I would bet she did it as a stylistic choice for AHS. A way to temporarily achieve a certain type of look that is unlike her natural, somewhat more girly facial features. We know that she wants to give AHS her all, and she doesn't want to deliver lukewarm efforts. We also know for a fact that she put a lot of work in tailoring everything about her look prior to the filming of AHS, from her body to her hair to her skin. Being as extreme as Gaga is about her own appearance, I'd say that being broadcasted in HD every week would be a good reason for her to go that extra mile to achieve the perfect look for the Countess.

And I'm not saying that this is the definitive explanaition for everthing, but I'm 95% sure that yours isn't either because a lot of things point towards the fact that her mind right now is a lot clearer than how it was the past 6 years. The truth probably lies somewhere in between all of this, but we should not draw conclusions and claim to know the definitive motivation behind it all, because we simply don't know.

Well you can also look at it in another way: why would she change appearance while still filming AHS, if the purpose for it would be for AHS. I don't think Ryan Murphy would be very happy about Gaga's appearance changing so suddenly if it didn't creatively fit with the season. 

And surely Gaga could've waited untill after  filming was finished if she did it purely because of personal reasons.

Lmao it's so obvious it's not for AHS. Why would she ruin her face for the finale (if she hasn't recorded it yet)? She can't even show emotions rn, not very fitting to acting.
