ThisGuyTony 30,461
I discover and stanned for her in 2013! I bought and lived everything Kylie that year! Of course I live in the U.S. so she's pretty much still unknown here.
Staryu 6,162
I didn't know who she was before I joined GGD.
RAMROD 109,381
I know her because I was growing up in Asia. She is popular there since the 80s but somehow she is rarely having shows in that continent, missing so much opportunity tbh. All.the people from 70s-80s mostly enjoyed her earlier songs, especially Locomotion and that duet with her ex, Jason Donovan. As for 90s kids like me, MTV were always airing her music videos, and as for me, the introductory MV of her was Dit It Again. It was fascinating to see multile Kylie with all kinds of personalities. But I only began to got into her from Light Years album.

Like, Janet repeaked at the beginning of the 00s and then kind of faded (I think) but Kylie stayed consistent pretty much throughout the decade, even if her bigger impact was also at the beginning of the 00s. Spinning Around, CGYOOMH, Love At First Sight, Slow, I Belive In You, 2 Hearts and even All The Lovers a couple of years ago, where pretty big to various degrees. It's only gotten s--tty after Aphrodite Aphrodite is the best Kylie's album omg, I can't get over that ****. Is RedOne involved? I can totally hear a very RedOne thing. KairuXGaga 60
I think she's not also known here in the Philippines... All I know is that she's big for the Aussies and the Brits cause she always get no.1s in those territories.. But I love her work My favorite songs of Kylie are: All The Lovers I Believe In You Feels So Good Your Body (Ft. Giorgio Moroder) My worst fear is real life
Better Day 5,766
She was always huge here in Britain. Maybe as big as Madge. I have no idea why. She is flawless. I may redownload her discography Some of my favourite songs of all time are by her Together You And I!

Janet Jackson is a goddamn legend just like Madonna is. Five back to back #1 hit albums, seven #1 albums, six Grammy awards, thirty three Billboard Music Awards, eighty million records sold, the most successful debut tour of any female solo recording artist, thirty six number one hits,a nomination at long last into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, all her movies hitting #1 in the box office within each opening weekend, the third most successful African American touring artist of all time behind Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, and the list goes on. Just because Janet hasn't had major success since her Superbowl bluff does not give you any right whatsoever to discredit her legendary status. EdX 2,862
Well, she absolutely is very popular in my counry (Latvia) and In the Baltics in general. She has sold out arenas everytime she has come here. Also with the KMO Tour. BUT, she's still not as big as Madonna. Cause Madonna is HUGE over here and definitely has that "Legend" status. Just like a lil bit below madonna. Like i would say the top female artists in the US are 1) Madonna 2) Mariah 3) Whitney / Janet So i was just seeing if Kylie was like a Janet in other countries. loribb 338
She's pretty big in Europe or at least she was up until few years ago, especially in the UK and France. In Croatia her songs are on the radio all the time, I remember when I was a child in 2000-2005 period she was like more famous here than Madonna or Britney. Songs like Can't Get You Out Of My Head, I Believe In You, Chocolate, Slow, Come Into My World, In Your Eyes, Please Stay etc. from that period always give me nostalgia. When I was exploring about her and discovered her songs from '87-'95 I was actually surprised it were all her songs that I've heard on the radio. She is mostly taken as a singer and entertainer and known for her s-xiness, but never did any scandals or sought attention like kissing younger fellow artists. Just cuz she's not big in the US it doesn't mean she's not a superstare elsewhere
StrawberryBlond 14,828
I'm from the UK. We supported her for years. We're her second biggest market after Australia. She's fallen massively in popularity for the last 10 years or so, though (sadly, it was after the long break due to her cancer diagnosis - she was maybe away for too long). Her 1989 debut sold over 2.1 million copies, which is massive. She stayed at gold level for a while then came back with another 2 million seller in 1994. She then dipped again with albums barely hitting 300k, but then she had one of the biggest comebacks in pop history when she released Fever in 2001. It sold 1.7 million, had big hit singles, got a re-release and she had a very successful tour with it. But after that, she began dipping to the 300k mark again for the next 3 albums. She did have the massive greatest hits tour, The Showgirl Tour which was rescheduled as 2 tours and revamped after her cancer treatment and it was her most successful ever, with the UK audience being her most successful. It played to over 370,000 people and pulled in over $35 million from the UK dates alone (once the 2 tours were put together). But that tour was her last big career highlight. Her latest album, only went silver (less than 100k), her lowest seller, despite her being a judge on The Voice and getting promo slots. As for singles, she's done very well here. She's had 7 #1's and a further 26 top tens, some of them duets. Out of the four singles from her debut one went to #1 and the other three went to #2 and in her follow-up, she had 2 #1's and 2 top 5's which is pratically unheard of by UK standards. Her last hit here was All The Lovers in 2010, which went to #3. She's really not promoted here for a long time, which is partly the reason why she's become somewhat forgotten. She was big, but not Madonna level. But she was pretty close, definitely one of the most successful international females the UK's ever had and the most successful Australian female artist here, which is really something to be proud of.
