I think it's strange that some people are saying they don't like Sia's attitude.

I like that it is honest, instead of other artists who talk about creating an album as if it's always a visceral experience. I doubt it would be all the time and this is coming from the mouths of people who don't write their own songs. 

I also think that singing and music is in Sia's veins and reject when people say that it is not, based on this interview. I think it's refreshing that she isn't 'thanking God' and acting as if her talents are the savior of all humanity. She obviously loves what she does, and she just gets on with it.

I enjoy her honesty. It confirms what I have suspected, which is that I would imagine the writing process is a little different for each artist because each artist is different. Obviously they won't approach their artistry the same way, from performances to writing. For instance, I wouldn't have expected Bey to go into the process the same way as Katy because they are completely different artists. And we know both of those methods are different from Gaga's, because she is very different from both Bey and Katy. It's finding a method that works for different people, and adapting to it, which I'm not surprised many writers have to adjust to. Once the writer becomes comfortable with the different approaches the collaboration can become more fruitful. I'm glad Sia has an easy-going manner because  that's partially the key to her success. I also wouldn't worry about her getting into too much trouble with being outspoken about the process because she often delivers with her material. I'm sure a few artists may be be a little miffed by what she says here but they will likely work with her again if she can continue to bring them solid material.

No, when she could write songs by her own she wouldn't need singer songwriters like Sia and Bonnie McKee ( which wrote the biggest Katy Perry hits )

Katy is there to understand the songs and add things that it feels more personal for her.

She has a bunch of songwriters. When she would be the main writer, it would mean she can write pop hits by herself. But why should she then use so many songwriters ? Just for fun ? Katy is involved because she talks to them about her feelings and because she needs help of them, because in the end THEY create the hits, not she.

Sia could write the songs completely without the presence of Katy Perry, that's clear. But it looks more authentic when she is there and gives some input. Everybody knows that in the industry.

That would make sense if one or two producers that have worked with Gaga haven't stated how generous she is with credits So for all we know she has written just as many songs by herself as Katy. But yasss clock, hunty
